True - i suppose I still remembered from when I was doing them 15 years ago - i've only been back for 3 months, and fly through level 5's solo all the time. The biggest hangup on tmaps, and mibs, is the ID/sorting macros, and dealing with all the magic items efficiently, otherwise it's not worthwhile, and that takes some set up for a new person. But at lest there isn't a financial investment, or time to train to get into it.

My issue with farming Destard, is that I play during primetime, and there are always reds there.. I can't remember a time I've farmed for more than 10 minutes, without running into someone.. Cove 5 also see lots of reds, Hythloth though, may have potential for crystal farming.

MOTM definitely though isn't worth the time farming - I get all my MOTM off of T-maps

Yes, but having an ID and sort macro to do the work for you, is very helpful when you have 125 items to ID in a chest.

This thread is basically right. If you have the patience and a LOT of determination.

This is all Happynoob does (seriously, I see him farming in the same places as me every time I try to farm up crystals) and he's probably sold 100+ million in Double Strikes alone. Personally, grinding the same dungeon over and over gets to me very fast. The money is okay (better than nothing) although for crystals you are better off killing EVERYTHING since easy mobs have just as good a chance of dropping crystals.

That said, I've turned in lots and lots of crystals since they were first implemented and I've gotten nothing. It's pretty soulcrushing to repeatedly turn in like 20-30 crystals, make the timer, wait 2-3 days (literally) for someone to kill the boss and you see nothing in your bank. Every time. 60-80k for a dexer per hour in a place like Hythloth is a bit...lofty for most players and I'm running Tread and Double Strike. It sucks waiting for the timer which restricts when you can actually farm and if you time your crystal farming poorly, they can go poof because someone else horded more than you at a better time.

But if you nail this, you are an instant multi millionaire. No denying it. Just go check the Sell forums and you'll see Happynoob selling a new Double Strike.

Tried to follow this guide here is my experience:

Arch deamon: don't done if I am just okaying odd hours or if people are farming motm? But nibudy is ever there, I have seen him up but never enough to engage.

Destard: trying to farm crystals is poison I don't think I ever lasted more than 45 minutes without being pk'ed. Usually they roll in with 3 or 4 people no chance to survive.

Hythloth: I manage to turn a couple crystals in but nobody fights the boss. He has been up for 3 days now. Every time you try to turn in Crystals it says something along the lines of "the master is currently roaming the halls."

Cove: forget about this one. First off the mobs hit like mini bosses. Just getting a single crystal is an even in its own. Forget about fighting a boss this place is a ghost town.


I don't know if this guide is already dated, if I just have the worst luck ever, or pk's read this and are trying to capitalize on people doing this guide but I have followed it since posted and haven't seen a single reward.

You don't have hiding on your pvm'er? Do you carry pots? Bandages? Trapped boxes? ..regs? I don't see how you die to reds.

Hiding is dropped for swords to level talisman and of course I have pots multiple traped bags bandages and boom boxes. Does nothing for you though if they roll in 3+ at a time. Also pking is only 25% of the problem (I listed 4 bullet points there.)

Streets you need to put Crystal in Alatr immediatly or saving them in your house, if you run through Destard with 10 Crystal in backback obviously you will loose them soon or later.

About the fact that nobody kill the boss is not a problem, when it die you roll the chance for relic, if it remains up for 2 days you have 2 other Crystals altars to farm or at least you can farm other things temporary.

About pk depends of the situation, if you know that in Destard 4x pks will kill you every 40 mins you need to think about new strategy.

For example you can farm Crystal with Blessed suit no pots no Magic puch and turn immediatly Crystal in Alatr or House, so when they kill you the only thing you will loose will be an Iron katana and 50 bendages

Man this is the game, people can give you advice but if your feedback is negative I dont know what you want to read here.

There is no a secret chamber with chest filled with relics and 120 taming.

My Archer Bard farms Destard a lot - I do it in the early morning EST time and very very rarely see PK's. I know once noonish-early afternoon hits it'll pick up so I change spots from there. You can provo the werewolves in cove 5 as well, make more gpm there than destard but it's a lot harder because of the mobs. I have never once seen a PK in cove 5 either.

In the mean time I'm also training a tamer because we all know how they work for farming.

The truth is it's a grind. It's all about risk & reward - it's very clear how that works on this shard so you just have to try to work around it as much as possible. If farming gets tough, track some IDOC's and give that a shot. There are multiple ways to make gold you just gotta diversify your tactics.

And I'm nowhere near rich either but I manage and do OK for myself. Just have fun man.

What are you planning to use gold for?

One of the things I like about this game is that pvp equipment+regs (people around here call it "stock") is quite inexpensive

Dying doesn't really hurt much economically speaking

Furthermore if you join a cool guild quite often they will provide stock for you for free if you pvp with them

Furthermore if you join a cool guild quite often they will provide stock for you for free if you pvp with them

Don't really PvP much I have a zerker talisman for my Archer would like to get double strike and mortal wounds and Max it out maybe try a couple more talismans? From there I wanna a shop or little village somewhere. Got some cool ideas to make it fun for me and everyone else playing.

It'd be nice if they increased the decay timer just a bit though.

Like StegcO mentioned there is no holy grail. If you are a casual player and run around on suboptimal templates with lesser heal pots, you are going to have a bad time.
