tl;dr there don't need to be any changes besides NOT giving gold back to the player that insta stats.. instead make it 100% a gold sink, possibly raise the cap to 100k and give people a reason to negotiate/make money off of reds.

Been saying that shit. It says that I bribed the guard not the player who didn't bother to negotiate.

I always make offer to reds before statting.

Usually followed by a 'that person is currently offline' or an "eff u ***" ...

Dumbest post here.

UO is a sandbox game meaning there's lots of different play styles and was NEVER meant to be just pvping.
Second, you need blues on a game. I've seen shards where there's all reds, no blues and know what happens? They hang around Yew gate fighting each other..that's what happened after Trammel. The blue avoided Fel, the reds had no one to fight. Your not wanting any blues on this shard is the quickest way to kill a shard.
Your thought is basically what killed UO.
The only way for a shard to survive is to have a balance and that includes blue guilds, and reds, and pks and blue notos and crafters, etc.
When did you start playing UO? 4 months ago?
Let the people who actually understand this game discuss things here and go sit back in the corner.
Anyone who thinks this shard would survive being red pk fest with nothing else has no clue with UO is about.

You're absolutely correct. Trin does provide a valuable service supplying loot for every red on the server. Keep those corpses stocked with ruin bows for us. K thx.

Perma red statloss is just a way for these emotional trauma victims (blue players) to get better revenge i.e "i'm going to fuck you more than you fucked me when i got pked and lost 20 ea reg and my favourite bandana". Either that or the 48 hour statloss isn't enough of a viagra substitute, and these kids are now needing a week or perma to get their dicks hard.

I have a red char called 'gay and emo', im thinking i should turn him blue given the name would be more appropriate with blue status.

And still it rages on. You know what really needs to be changed? The amount of fart feathers that do not rename their vendors after selling out of stock. SO many damned vendors named RARES which sell ID wands or other assorted crap that does not resemble a rare whatsoever. YOU would get trading standards hounding your asses for false advertisement. *If you fail to see the sarcasm in this post then you are obviously so self absorbed that a sponge does not hold a candle to you.*

On some level we have to foster an environment that is conducive to a new players learning curve. I think the biggest question is: how do we strike a balance? I think, like many, that we are out of balance right now.

@Karl Sagan i read "man the fuck up" too- while this is true to a point...once that point is crossed youre making it worse by telling ppl this. and that point is different for everyone. So im guessing maybe you meant man the fuck up so the status quo can continue when you yourself have said this was an issue. did I miss something?

Something that came to mind is the situation where 5-10+ counts are given for one murder)when ordinarily it would be just 1 count or more). Multiply this by 20 players killed and you have 100-200 counts in possibly a very short time. Now lets say a red dies, in stat, he has a choice of money drain or stat loss time.Which one to take, neither is game breaking but still a hard decision either way for some.
But the myltiple counts for one person is, i think, a serious issue....
im sure while back reds complained stat loss was too long so we eventually got to this system which is a quite easy system for reds. Couple this with 10+ zerg squads and you have a recipe for over killing.
Overkilling leads to disinterest in the game which leads to people leaving.
I mean the simplest way I think of it is this: You get high off killing(you biologically get high)...youre body releases endorphines. the more you kill the more you need to kill to feel that original high. Sound like something else? Well yes and no but you get my point
So solution is restraint.

You fail to understand, it's not that I am dying. I rarely die to reds anymore, I'm way past that.

It's not that the server is dying either. The server is doing just fine.

I'm trying to help people learn that a balance needs to be struck in order to keep things afloat. It's for the new guys, the up and comers, and for the vets too. We want to continue to have a healthy community to play this game with for a long time to come.

You must be new to UO, it's O.K. I forgive you.

Yea Im totally new to a 20 year old game. Really? lowell!

Maybe that's the EQMS strategy? Recruit anybody willing to make themselves look like a *, help them make one char (they are barely able to do that, as it seems http://uoforum.com/threads/you-cant-gm-healing-by-healing-living-humans.55995/), load their bank acct up with FS scrolls, and boom.

We havn't recruited you yet so I doubt thats the case. You come off as one of the biggest cunts here. Excuse my wording ladys ;)
