How hard is it to read that you don't get perma stat loss UNLESS you REZ while over the 5 short count timer??? FFS

What blows my mind is the fact that most players brag to no end that they have been playing this game since 97... and they cant remember how the classic long and short term murder system worked....... They must have all been trammys?? wink, wink!

So my question is, whats to stop these blues from running into a dungeon? I mean WOW no stat in overwold PVP thats AMAZING BUT then every time you chase a blue they'll for sure go in a dungeon, hoping to either have their gank squad there, have a dragon or two almost one shot you or to hopefully kill you.. its definitely going to be abused. Anyone who's for this change will most certianly be running to a dungeon, and when the red doesnt follow through they get to heal escape etc. What a fucking buzzkill.

I can deal with having a red or two for dungeon champs but when im chasing fools outside of dungeons at idocs and they purposely run to a dungeon, then recall back to the idoc, and run to a dungeon, then recall back to the idoc and run to a dungeon.. wow fun pvp there

perhaps we need to treat dungeon entrances like moongates.

All I can say is that I don't want wands and bolas. Everything else I am not concerned with because I don't pvp heavily so my opinion is biased somewhat. With that said, I DO find the magic weapons idea interesting, but it does become super item/luck based for dexxers.
Dexers are already luck based to an extent with your chance to hit. Super powered weapons would be epically awesome, for whoever had one or the group of 10 going after the red guy that does... My point is, these minor mechanic changes and additions are the tools the devs have to make this game awesome, and people need to bite their tounge and let them use them. @Adam @Shane no one could do this better than you guys and I firmly believe that. My opinion - do whatever u guys think is best, and I'll be glad to give u feedback when I feel you need it, but I'm not going to piss and moan if something upsets the balance a bit, because that's the point! Players think balance is about keeping things at a relative status quo. I say fuck the status quo. If u guys have an idea that you think will make this a better shard, then you're probably right.

Nothing is stopping them...... like nothing is stopping you from not following. It will become a PVP tactic the same as one red running into brit to lure victims across the bridge.

I don't understand why this change would make PK's nervous to dungeon Pk . The way it is now, if you die in the dungeon and someone chops your head, pretty damn good chance you're ending up with stat loss.... and you're likely out of the game for 48 hours. At lease this way you' can have up to 4 short term count when you die, in the dungeon, without putting yourself into a statloss situation. If you have 5 short term, no big deal, macro as a ghost overnight and you'll be good to go in the morning. Now if you travel around with crazy amounts of short term counts.... then you are probably getting what you deserve.

Kind of off topic here but some of the best times I ever had playing a PK in UO was when you killed someone inside a dungeon they got booted out and it wouldn't let them back in for 15 or 20 mins. The people raging outside of the dungeon entrances at times was comical.

Honestly, can these horrible players that don't pvp please shut the fuck up?

All of you trammies have nfi, if you are a vet of uo and don't pvp it is more than likely you're a simple person that dislikes challenges. Killing mindless ai with no threats is laughable.

The proposed changes will make the wolves quit.

So does this mean you're joining a PvE WoW server?

Honestly short term and long term counts should have been in place from the get-go. Perma stat too, considering how easy it is to make a character here. But I understand why it wasn't.

Just finished my latest mage in a whole day at minimal cost. Must have costed me all of 85-90k and about 14 hours of macroing. Oh boy.

From the beginning...simply being able to dual client was reason enough to have harsher penalties for PKs. Simply having a low barrier to entry regarding skill gain and resource consumption was cause enough for stat-loss to be in place but not over the top. And now that nearly everyone who has been around for a while is well I established, has extra char slots, multiple PKs per acct, and three accounts? It's whine, whine, whine.

Put up or shut up, you fierce "wolves"

Show us how good you really are.

Pre-Trammel - Reds took stat loss
Post-Trammel (AoS) - Reds took no stat loss

Therefore supporting no stat loss makes you the "trammie", but I guess Risk Vs Reward is reserved for those you accuse of being trammies.

Or maybe on the flip-side, if you are a vet of UO who PVPs you are a simple minded person who likely has self-confidence and psychological issues and only finds gratification through pointless bouts of "competition" that gives them brief moments of euphoria and adrenaline highs that fulfill these deep seeded issues. Getting a thrill from killing other people's pixel characters is quite laughable!

See how that works?

I thoroughly enjoy this thread. Especially in it's ability of identifying all of the tools on this server in one convenient thread!

The alpha wolves will stay and they will adapt. The beta wolves will leave, unable to handle and adapt to the challenges put forth before them.

These trammies are failing to forget that ppl have lives, we don't have time to macro nor could we be bothered. I get that some of u whining are the same ones who clocked 16 hours a day on zombies which forced shane to shut it down so he couldn't be sued for causing seizures, but u have to realise that normal ppl cant do this....

Honestly with the way u trams carry on u make it out that being red means you can kill prey easier than a titan and make 'infinite money' with ease.... if this was the case there'd be way more pks. The truth is pking is hard, hence why the trams who can't handle challenges or develop skills steer clear of it.

I gear up with 115-120 items along with ar. Trust me, keeping that stocked costs way more than your loot. But why am I bothering? Im talking to blues who run naked with 50 reg, no ar and maybe 100 bandaids and think they know loss cause their pet gets .08 skill loss... lol!

Id say getting a thrill or challenge from grinding ai for hours that sits still is laughable or borderline insane...

Dude, bottom line, if you can't be bothered to macro you picked the wrong game. To be good at UO you first have to master the macro skill.

They put in no stat after realizing how badly they fucked up lol

The reason they removed stat loss 6 years into the game wasn't because they suddenly realized that they "fucked up". It was because the people you would refer to as "trammies" made up almost the entire population of UO and removing stat loss allowed for those players to safety have fun in Felucca and explore some of the play styles they may not have otherwise tried, such as a PK.

It's obvious that if stat loss was in, much like them, you wouldn't be pking - which only furthers my point.

They took out stat-loss LONG before AoS. Just because you're a 'vet' to UO doesn't mean it counts if you never played on OSI.
