The meta issue

It seems like the mage talisman relics are either less desirable or are more common, I feel like I always see them for sale.

Less desirable because the leveling suck &^(* it's expensive and the meditations.................................. Not to mention you're a naked target for giefing.

I agree Bradely... but the end game part of these should be the time it takes to level them to the top... not the bank busting prices that people are forced to pay due to the low supply. Besides, these are only this weeks end game item. With the pace that new content is being added, meta stuff will be old soon, just like the others.
Don't get me wrong I like the new metas, and the new dungeon fountains content.... Good job Bradley but damn, I quit WOW because the game changed every other week.

To be honest, if my connection was a bit better I'd quit all this Trammel shit and get back to what I loved about UO... Me and my bud running our twin PKS!!

The "bank busting prices" are just people being greedy... I got my 120 taming scroll from a guildie who sold it to me for 5m when the market was 8m. I actually got a 120 taming last week and sold it to a guildie for 5m when the one on the forums sold for the buyout of 10m. One guildie sold his blood talons relic to another guildie for 2.5m when the current value right now is 5m. I have too many other examples of my guild selling things to other guildies on the cheap because we're not so damn greedy.

People on this server are the greediest people I've ever encountered in any MMO that I've ever played. There is absolutely no doubt about that. There are 7 champions spawns that can be done up to 5 times per day, each of which have a chance to drop a relic. That is 35 chances for that 20% trigger to go off (not counting RDAs). The drop rate is fine. People are just Greedy. As. Fuck.

If they couldn't get those prices though, they'd sell for less.

It's not just greed.

Supply/demand. Many of those guilds horde until all their tamers have what they need and then sell the extras.

Of course they are greedy. This game is more about outwardly standing out in rare insanely priced otherworldly colors than it is about team work and friendship. The pvpers make fun of the pvmers as if playing the same 17 year old game in a different way makes it ok because they are fighting and showing virtual dominance over cartoon sprites. New players join this shard see all the stuff others have and try to catch up as quick as possible. Why? Because then someone will notice their new giant 2000 tile house or Uber rare weapon and it will make their day. This game is filled with a pool of the strangest people I've ever seen and I'm still coming back because it's the best game ever made no matter what your play style is. The sandbox is only as good as the people who play in it...for better or worse.

PS...AMERICA!!

I got a Bloody Relic from @Bobby123 for 750k... http://www.uoforum.com/threads/bloody-relic-for-750k-sold.48343/#post-311329 talked him into giving back because he is already super rich. He still owes me a QS at a good price :)

You're not confused. You're just making conversation on the topic, I can sense this :)

Relics already have an effort / reward built in... It's the leveling. :) The issue is what the low spawn rate / locations of these items have done to the value of everything else.

You caught me :)

I am just playing devils advocate for the most part. I have a meta pet and I would also like to see relics drop more often for selfish reasons however not at the expense of the game being unbalanced.

In the past 2 weeks or so I have seen more relics for sale then the previous month or two so I do think they increased the drop rate.

You mentioned the issue is that it has put a bad value on "everything else". I have witnessed this. You cant give away a 105 power scroll now because it will take a storage slot on someones house. Dono items are being sold for less value then they originally paid for (I have experienced this). I think there is something to this argument.

I mean yes and no.

It's hard to say how many are dropping because perception vs reality. I know items are being sold at a discount, our guild does it too. But even those transactions are few and far between and my guild is a group of seasoned vets that gets busy at champs and RDAs when we have a fair number of personnel online.

I think since Oct of last year we have dropped maybe 5 relics. That's hundreds and hundreds of RDAs, bosses, and champs.

One per month, that just plain sucks. There are some guilds out there that get lucky as fuck, and I guess new players can get lucky like that too, but we get the shaft and we get it often.

But I agree, up the drop rate too much and large guilds might benefit more..in a way that is harmful and not helpful.

Coming from someone who wanted 28milion for their meta but couldn't get it because they realize no one has that kind of money. Whose greedy? Its you. The only way to fix the problem is to increase the relic drop rate. They doubled it for the fucking barnacle ingots when people complained, why not double it for relics too.

Winning a couple raffles and being smart with your trades.

I'm not a fan of the Duck at all but he's got the trading/raffle game beat.

Yep... that will happen at first but you could also make it so small groups and or solo players have a chance at farming them too. Make them spawn the same way taming SS do. Lots of good would come out of enticing players to be out farming all over the world!

It would just be nice for when I do find an RDA that I'm able to participate in if I actually saw something of value come out of it, same with champs. I don't mind putting in the work...But when you put in work and are consistently not rewarded for it... It turns it from a fun project into a mind-numbingly hopeless chore.

I put my meta on the market for the market prices that I did not set. Greedy would be asking for 40m because I worked so damn hard to level it up.

28 mil isn't off, for his pet...Has all 4 major relics, its done leveling...and its a nice hue. If you do the 40k/hour exp thing, I wonder how long you actually leveled it. I sell 'meta-pet leveling' and though its good gold, I feel the time put into that is still worth far more than people think, especially ones that haven't leveled one themselves.

Well they kinda did that with these dungeon bosses. Chance for relic in your bank based on number of crystals turned in to spawn bosses.

I am under the impression that they are meta dexer relics only, but it's a good way to reward players putting in hard work.

That being said, I don't know anyone who has gotten one in their bank and I know some guys who are cranking out crystals like it's their job.

25 turn-ins on occasion and 15 turn-ins, 10 turn-ins often. Still no relics.

People are crying about getting relics in your bank as being too "Trammel" but clearly they aren't just giving them out every time.

28 mil is lowball for this meta though. For reals, if I had a nice chunk of change lying around I'd sell my meta and buy Bradleys in a heartbeat.

My point exactly... these are the only thing of value now, and no one has enough gold to buy it! The economy if $#%*@&. I really hope the developers take a look at where we are going... I know they care!!

the drop rate does need to be increased
ive killed the fucking arch demon 10+ times, each time im like 1-3 to 1-4 in damage and I havnt gotten shit
(talking about talisman relics)

Damage doesn't mean anything for relics. You can do 10 damage total and get the relic. The damage only counts for powerscrolls. The relic is completely random.
