Gold accesible from all chars in an account

How about you convince me why you need it? You're convincing argument is suppose to be, "because it saves me about 30 seconds"? Come on man I can play that card just as well.

How about I record a video of me transferring money and show that it only takes a few seconds. After I show you this magical maneuver of alt+tabs, and recalls, and the words, "bank, check XX,XXX, and the phrase, "Ohhhhh my God that chewed up ALL of my damn playing time! I better get on the forums and complain about it because I really could have been using this 20-30 seconds getting PKed instead of doing ALLLLL this work." Will that help you sleep at night knowing the noobs finally have been taught how to transfer money in game?


Obviously, I'm being a dick. But, the stupid notion that this is worth any dedicated coding time to save a few seconds of anyone's time is beyond me.

Probably 90% of the stuff posted in suggestions doesn't happen...guess everyone should just stop suggesting things.

Most of the Gold Sink/Donation coin ideas are purely convenience ideas as sort of a laziness tax. Take for example how most people use Ethereals. It doesn't take that much time to go and buy another horse just recall to stables and bam you got another horse after you were PKed but people that don't use stealth buy them anyway. Why because it saves them some small amount of time they would rather use doing other stuff.

So you are correct no one needs this just like 99% of the server doesn't need an ethereal. It doesn't mean we don't want them anyway though.

Yes, yes...all of that coding that it will take...months or even years worth of it.

You should go ahead and make that video though. Not because I don't know how to transfer gold between characters, but it would be a great waste of your time.

You guys keep bringing up Trammel. As though it has anything whatsoever to do with this discussion.

Hey, are you aware that you can purchase items from both player run vendors and NPC vendors without having the gold in your pack? I'm sure you are. That's way more Trammel than anything being discussed here...and also not part of the original code. I expect that none of you opposed to this account wide gold access idea use that feature, though.

If I need 3 mil I dont have to switch all my chars and collect the money, go to bank, leave the money to my house

I think it is as straight forward as it gets.

This was my first idea to make the game better and what I see is that there is so much criticism that next time I should better mind my own business.

I have seen where flames and trolling took Origin to.

I want to make the gaming experience better for players so that more will follow and enjoy gameplay. I never thought of "it aint broke dont fix it" cause thats not a reason not to make sth better

I withdraw my interest to help. Too much trolling around to provide sth useful.

The idea isn't a bad idea. With checks already being blessed I can't see how this would negatively impact anything.


Speaking of that, if Xombie and Metal wouldn't have drummed up 4 pages of worthless posts, we might have been able to have some legitimate pro v con on this.

1. The problem with Trammel was/is the lack of risk. There is already 0 risk to creating checks and placing them into secure chests for your other character. So this is merely a convenience feature. By your logic we should be removing runebooks, ethereal mounts, the gump on moongates that tell you which town you are going to, etc.

2. Do you have any proof at all that a system like this would be easily exploitable? It really seems like you are just pulling that out of your ass.

I just don't understand why you would need to share gold? All classes can make money and you can only own 1 house per account. Doesn't make any sense.

Keep in mind that I haven't really been arguing FOR anything, just trying to find out why you (and others) are so dead set against something that really doesn't hurt anyone.

But, I'll play along...hell, I'm not doing anything else but waiting to see if I have to go back in to work this afternoon.

I have a character with magery/inscription/alchemy/tailoring. No real combat skills and for quite a while he never even left town aside from recalling to his house. I used mostly gold from my main character to finance GM'ing those skills. Pretty expensive and would have been a lot easier and saved quite a bit of time if I didn't have to swap gold from character to character or buy all my supplies with my main and transfer that to the mage/scribe. He's since made quite a bit of gold selling scrolls, rune books, full spell books, and BOD cloth (although I've quit doing BODs now as I find them to be a pain in the ass), but as a character in training he didn't make much money. Maybe there was a better way to do that...I don't know, and don't really care.

Yeah, all characters can make money, but some make marginally more than others.

I don't see what 1 house per account has to do with anything.

The only purpose of wanting to share gold in my eyes is if you want your main character to place a house. Other than that it sounds like your doing exactly what I said earlier... your just trying to nerf your characters and be lazy.
