Paragon is worth nothing by itself. The only check is on the HP of the mob vs the HP of the meta pet. If the former is higher, you get +10% XP. Paragon is only relevant because they usually qualify for the +10% since they have x5 HPs

10% this was in till a month ago at least, i've not been playing since then, so don't know now.

i say to NOT go to Despise or Shame, because those are the preferred hunting grounds of noob PKs who like to kill newbies (probably couldn't kill anything else anyway).

A code snippet was posted in the "Training your meta-pet thread" and following that code you were penalized only if the hps of a mob were too low. Probably has been changed by then, that's rather easy to find out though by trying it in game.

this is how it works on current UO on OSI. I think this feature is not implemented here.

they're just difficul to target with the mouse... you can press shift+ctrl and feed the "name plate" though, it's easier

2 ww are only better if you need to stay mounted otherwise drag+ww always wins (or meta+ww) optionally death beetle+ww for some specific mob (not poison immune or which poisons)

they are like other pets, they do lose happiness when they fail to follow an order or (i think) when they or you die. Feed them meat
