If the staff had originally said the punishment was a 7 million gold fine I don't think there would be an argument. The problem is they were told their punishment was a month ban from RDAs. After serving their month long sentence + jailtime they are now being told they have to pay 7 mill on top of it.

I get that people have a hard on for sticking it to certain SQUAD members. This is also shitty for legitimate nice/good players such as chippy and gong that are basically screwed from doing a SINGLE rda in an area they shouldn't have. When you compare this minor infraction to what other people have done (multiclienting in rdas, logging out in rdas, etc.) it makes even less sense.

Going forward these new punishments are great and should be strictly enforced. However, punishing these people retroactively with a 7 million penalty on top of their already served month long ban/jailing (which is what was originally told to be the punishment) is pretty unfair.

You don't get a speeding ticket, pay the fine, then a month later have to sit in jail because a new law was passed that states anyone who has a speeding ticket now has to serve mandatory jailtime.

Unban them and make their next punishment the 50 mill higher tier punishment. Better yet... make the next infraction perma banned.

I dont understand... they broke the rules and were banned from RDAs -- staff is offering them a way to get out of the ban and youre upset about it?

T2a has always been off-limits for any activity so I don't see a problem with taking action. Definitely worthy of taking action.

I would argue doing RDAs in t2a is worse... why would you need multi client on an RDA when you know the location is so obscure no one else can find it.

That being said, they need to just scrap the RDA system now, make a vendor announcing RDAs so people fight over them and be done with it. Using scripts to recall around the map is lame

Or just make them un trackable and 'random' as intended.

Lol no that makes too much sense.

I think we need a second portal gem to be honest. New features! More shit that needs adjustment!

And I think to compliment further breaking those blazed hued money holes we could probably stand to make the rewards more valuable. Because logic.

Maybe i misunderstood but i was under the impression that if you enter an RDA with 2 characters from the same IP you get automatically banned. It seems to be a much cleaner solution to not allow 2 characters with the same IP to enter an RDA to begin with instead of punishing people for possible mistakes and having to clean up after.
Join one char with my Wifi and the other with my mobile hotspot... solution circumvented. I bet they probably watch RDAs or something.

That would definitely help out any large guilds eh?

Or just make them un trackable and 'random' as intended.
That's how they were originally and guess what, ppl still recalled around and found them, except only a very elite population actually found them then.

My favorite era of RDAs was right after logging out in them was fixed. Some who did it were caught, some were not, but it was funny to see how much different the names were that started showing up in the portals after that change was made. It was almost like the appeal was gone once they had to work for it.

Instead of seeing exclusively $ or POWER or POT tags you saw the occasional Trin, TFS, and LORE players showing up. Not just that same handful of people over and over and over and over. They still showed up from time to time, but grid recall tracking is slower than manual tracking and there weren't that many members of exploiting guilds willing to actually run a map.

It is a damn shame there wasn't better stat tracking/leaderboards from the start. Damn shame.

Seems unlikely because that bullshit woulda been sewn up a lot sooner.

Believe that.

so that i used tracking WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY before anyone else is bullshit ?

not my fault you guys not smart enough all i can tell you 100x100 yards tracking was fucking fun.

I was tracking earlier than you must think. I found out POWER was doing it, and possibly even before you guys did.

That doesn't change the fact that I'm not talking about using tracking, I'm talking about logging out inside.

You guys fucking fell. off. after that was fixed and it was super sad.

But if it makes you feel any better it hurt me to know that you guys were sitting on houses and banks full of PS and relics and eggs, staff looked at your stuff and said they didn't like what they saw but weren't gonna do anything about it.

That hurt. It actually hurt because I have worked hard for everything I have and don't be a fuckin' shitlord and say anything about meta theft because I did not steal a dragon from a douchebag to profit, in no way did profit, and actually returned the thing in the end. It wasn't about gold. It wasn't ever about gold. And anyway I only did that recently so the hurt that I felt at the time was valid as fuck.

Fuck you. Piece of shit.

It took a little while before we caught on, but not like a super long time. Neither here nor there, that's not the funny business I'm talking about and you fucking know it yet that's all you want to discuss.

Why?

Because it doesn't implicate you.

I get it.

There are many ways to circumvent it, but that's beside the point i'm making.
I think see what you are saying.

My take is that multi-clienting is pretty horseshit and it's not unreasonable to protest it. Current solution forces people to work up an account to dedicate to a different IP in order to multi-client. You know what, go right ahead buddy...but that's a little sad and if you get busted you're gonna get raked over the coals but it's better than allowing a free for all in my opinion. I agree with forcing circumvention.

Just wish it wasn't easier to automate or reduce/eliminate and that it's probably already enough of a distraction from other business that deserves attention, of which there is plenty which is the message you are trying to convey I believe. In addition to mistakes or false positives.
