Suggestion: relook at throwing pots

A couple thoughts:

*Getting damaged causes finger slip, pot needs to be "picked up" again from pack to throw.

*Target's armor effects damage dealt.

*increase use cool down to match swing speed of xbow or heavy xbow. (you should not be able to throw faster than archers cab fire arrows.)

or maybe we could just not listen to suggestions from people who are lacking basic understanding of this game and/or have never PVPed in their UO career?
So we just need to deal with it for some leetist mentality, you should be the end all athority of pvp? Say what you want but I'm telling you people will leave this server of shit like this. And I'm not saying do this or the game will end but your going to loose some player base to to unbalance

Some combat skills should not outshine others as much as they currently do. .. archery vs pots in pvp is horribly out of balance. I would argue plate armor is not tuned right quite yet nobody wears it.

I'm just saying that this server has been up for nearly 3 years with more or less the same ruleset - so why do you think your idea is so great? And do you really think that you're the first one to cry about explopots?

Magic spells you can resist plus they are well... magic... an explosion potion is something you throw "physically". Besides the timer there are no factors of hitting or missing or damage delt.

It's been up for 3 years and the population is growing people not here before are realizing constantly something is not right here. And I am far from crying I am debating the fact, that'll is soooo many people before me (and I am quite sure after me) have reservations about pots maybe... just maybe.... there is something to it after all?

Long ago I posted this. It's how it functions in Ultima.
Explosion Potions


Very interesting. I don't claim to have the answers but I can bring up questions. Another complaint for achlemy is the skill needed (actually 1- 100 skill not player)

Magery: magery, evaluation int, meditation = 300 skill to do average damage

Archery: archery, tactics, anatomy (probably want some kind of 1 handed weapon skill or wrestling so when you disarm to heal your not installed killed) = 300-400 skill to do mediocre damage

Dexer: weapon skill, tactics, anatomy, lj if axer = 300-400 skill to do decent damage

Now alchemy : that's it 100 skill points to do great unlimited (as much as you can carry) damage

Same can be said about line of sight with archer and magery non of them can be used on the fly. My point is pots need either armor or magic resist mitigation to be balanced along with all other damage dealing abilities anyone who disagrees just wants to continue to abuse the mechanic

Or like magery and archery with movement, you can not move while the countdown timer is running... if you want to throw early so you can move then fine your target has a chance to dodge the pot if you want to wait to the last second and not miss fine you give your target a chance to run away

3rd idea for achery....

Add a new ammo type. Bows use arrows, heavies and xbows use bolts. Had a 3rd ammo and bow type use the graphic from Jukka or repeating crossbow ... these bows fire on the move with a lowered chance to hit (not an activated button) make um 1 handed so pots/shields can be used.

I know you say you have played an alchy, but this comment makes me think otherwise...

alchemy is the ONLY way to kill a runner. and it still isn't enough to take out a gheal chugger who also uses bandages. if you nerf alchemy, then what?
