Sounds like someone has never played poker in real life. Bad beats happen. If you can't stand to lose the money, then don't play. Here's a hint that might improve your game. Hint: A pair is really not that good.
OKAY, If you really think the poker system is crazy I propose doing what BUDCOOKIE does to auctioning. VFinger/StevieRay can help me out if he wants too help manage.
We take it to an individual client such as PokerStars. (with honesty, because after all it is a bannable offense scamming). If NOT PokerStars, then we can rotate the system so that its on a different client each day or each tourney depending on the participants preferences. I don't know whether this is legal or not because it entirely takes the gold sink out of the game. But honestly, if you guys wanna stop whining and do it that way, on a more developed poker system where WE CAN ACTUALLY SEE CARDS and FLOPS that don't MAKE hands, I'll be more then happy to set something up.
We can figure out the rake and what it means for participants and the organizers that's fair. (Probably won't be as insane as BUDCOOKIES cut = NO HATE, JUST APPRECIATE)

I know you in game and youre just stupid. it isnt about losing, it is about losing with the winning hand. Imagine having the nuts flush and betting 250k (because you cant lose with the best hand possible) and then losing to a pair of jacks.

That doesn't happen.. what DOES happen is sometimes the winning hand isn't announced-- the losers' hands are. So while you may see I have a flush, I have jacks, the winner's hand isn't shown. This is odd, but what you are saying happens, never happens. You are obviously a terrible poker player who doesn't know what he's doing. Maybe you should stick to what you are good at: killing AFKs.
When it is just hamburgler and myself, its pretty easy to see the two hands. Im going to keep killing you afk because your just that stupid and annoying with everything you say. i know where you live and i will ruin your ultima fun.

Keep changing the subject.. every legit poker player here knows exactly what you are: a WHINER. You lose your gold in poker and start QQing about how unfair it is. Maybe go practice on some free sites like FullTilt or PokerStars instead of just going all in whenever you get a pair, and you might win some hands. Thread = Disproven. Vendetta = Whiny loser who never makes it at the big table in poker.
Edit: And I haven't been to the Abyss spawn since I've been back playing the game. Entered 3 1v1 tournaments and have 2 trophies from those. Where are you in the tournaments? Oh that's right, you don't matter because you just run your mouth. Keep on trying to talk the talk, while the rest of us walk the walk.

The poker system needs an update to make it more attractive and modern.
Here's what I propose:

- New players joining the table will sit out until the next big blind reaches them.
- GUMP to show Winner's hand after hand is over as well as any other players hands that were shown during showdown
- Option to sit out for 1 blind to take a quick break from playing. (if you miss next blind it kicks you off table)
- A more obvious graphic for the dealer, small, and big blinds. (think a circular D, S, and B)
- A graphic countdown timer till you auto fold. 30 sec countdown above player head for instance or a progress bar with a number beside it
- Option to allow spectators to view action on table. Add a new button next to the buy in button that says spectate.

All are fine additions, I don't know how much I would like the option to sit out for 1 blind. I like it kicking them off the table if they aren't paying attention, no one wants to sit there forever and wait for them to decide when they want to play. Other options are nice. Honestly, aside from not showing the winning hand sometimes, I think its fine the way it is EXCEPT I would like an All-In button. Sometimes people who are mathematically challenged have a hard time discerning what the correct amount is to go all in. The rakes on heads up players is kind of ridiculous too, but I don't like to play unless theres at least 5 people, including myself, at the table.

agreed, all in button would be very nice.
However, you can currently miss two hands and then get the boot. If ppl had the option to go afk, like sit out a blind they could just click that and save themselves 20k and not get kicked from the table.

I hate everything about this poker system.

Poker itself is just bad, we get nothing but complaints really from anything gambling related- This is UO and as fun as mini games within a game can be, i have a serious issue with our development team putting in tons of hours to make something like this "better", when we already have put a good chunk of time into it.
Theres a SMALL percentage of players that even play poker here (seriously).
It makes no sense to build onto this, when we need to work on other things for sure.
Needless to say this is back-burner material at best.
