I think currently it is a nice reward for newer players and will be especially when it get to the easy monsters. And if you make the reward too unique or rare then any and all of these spots will be camped by the rich vets only to make it even harder for the young ones imagine despise and every ettin span spot it the forest when the ettins are motm if you could get a something unique. Where will our future hunter, bards, mages, pks, archers train if these spots are filled with vets.

I admit i have a chest full of usless scrolls .1 scrolls but now i know to let someone else have worry about getting killed for a .1 tactics scroll.

If you even hint that a lizardman can drop unique hat that says "king of lizards" any and all spawns with be camped. Let the new guys have something for once.

Well to be honest I think every spawn should have a custom rare drop all the time, kinda like statues but not statues . those are kinda useless ..
I love the idea of named weapons that may have a lsayer attribute to them but other then the name of the weapon and possibly a unique hue for it as well , its the same as any other weapon that can be looted from the spawn type.

What would make this even more interesting is that you would only know that the weapon is a rare "named weapon" drop AFTER Id'ing it ..

IE A lizard man spawn has a chance to drop weapons with the prefix "Draconian" and have a greenish hue, with the Retilian slayer.

So player kills a lizard man and the corpse has a Bow that is simply (Unidentified) and nothing at this time to indicate that it is a rare drop.
Upon Id'ing the bow , the bow takes on its unique greenish hue , and now displays as "Draconian Bow Reptilian Slayer"

Now this could be a bow , a sword a mace etc ... The system simply modifiys the weapon from the corpse as the rare type upon the rare roll chance success.

do we even have the "factions chests" that are supposed to be dropped when you control that sigil yet..?

what's the point of MOTM if there is literally no difference besides some .1 scrolls?
drop something cool. it can't be too hard to add wearables, cloth, literally anything. you have been shown what people WANT, yet that seems to be completely avoided.

They do have a chance to drop a rare but I'd have to kill you if I told you what it is.
No but seriously, the deamons do have a special rare drop and it's pretty neat imo. It's a special chest. Someone has already gotten one.

There is a whole discussion a few threads down about fixing the BOD cloth market that is currently in the sh*tter, and people want special hued cloth on MOTM? I think this should stick with statues/chests/some other kind of rares.

I won't complain about the .1 scrolls being useless either. Jumped on and farmed daemons for 30 min and walked away with all the normal loot plus a bunch of scrolls including a .1 taming. Not bad in my book. I would like to see .1 scrolls be easier to tell apart from +1 scrolls though. If not a different shade, maybe they could use the other scroll artwork? (Like mark scrolls instead of recalls).

This is all very well, but nothing gets players more horny for some PvM/PvP than the chance to collect new pixels. Desirable and tangible rewards that players can show off is what will really get MOTM booming (much like the Christmas and Easter events).

A good compromise is to incorporate already existing BOD cloth into the equation much like @Sandman and I have suggested before.

Regardless, I think the shard benefits more from repopulating the dungeons than it does in an increase of BOD farmers logging in every 4 hours.
 
I'm all for a shiny new rare or something, but MOTM should be its own thing. It shouldn't have to be something that further marginalizes another character class.

Active dungeons = active shard = more people playing

0.1 scrolls was a Terribad idea.

Pixels get the players in the dungeons. Xmas was a prime example.

The amount of motm being farmed has gotta be up there. Would like to see numbers for sure. Keep in mind mass farming is why drop rates are soooo low :)
