Game art files replaced?

Quite often theese days i follow selling forums and ive noticed more and more people have for instance chopped trees instead of regular ones? I can imagine this could be a massive advantage when running from someone in The woods.

How is that done? Is it legal? Could other art bits be replaced as well? ( id like to increase The size of black pearls for example or Mark dungeon traps red)

Legal.

It's a client side file in your UO directory.. "art.mul"

The "tree hack" file is widely available.

Tree hack pretty much does all those things in addition to larger gems and a lighter color for bags. There is a program you can use to edit the file yourself as well.

Try UOFiddler, the files you mod and then replace are art.mul and artidx.mul

Be aware that using these client side hacks sometimes can result in crashes... When newer art is encountered. I know one player kept crashing due to wearing an ankh necklace because of it.
