What kind of armor suites are people buying?

Just trying to see where the market has shifted since the "change". I haven't really been moving any Archer suits. What do you seem to selling now?
 
I have a tamer who wears Barbed Leather Suits and a bard/archer that uses Studded Barbed Leather Suits (much harder to find). The archer uses Studded because I want as much armor as I can get without losing any dex and anything stronger than barbed tanks my dex. I don't have a specific store I buy from, just check vendors around Yew when I need more sets.
 
I have found a couple of combinations that work well, for 42AR with only -2 Dex I went with barbed studded suit with Valorite helm and valorite plate arms. The arms give the most bang for their buck in terms of AR/dex. I am looking to mix in a few more with some other sets coming up.

On a side note, I was able, after LONG hours of scratching my head, to unravel the formula that is used on this server for armor. I was about to upload it to the wiki, but then I ran across a thread that (I believe it was Adam who posted it... ) said they would not release their numbers to keep a certain feeling of guesswork in UOF. I don't think I will give up my info any longer after thinking that over. All that being said, I am setting up my vendor shop just west of Covetous entrance. I will be applying my somewhat crude programming skills to a small program to develop cost in ingots for whatever suit I plug into it as well as AR and Dex Loss. I will tell you this, his formula is not the same as anything I have found on the net, and it took some time to figure out the idiosyncrasies. You should stop by over the next week and see what my little program comes up with.

Those plate arms are good bang for the buck though at only -2 dex.

Edit: Maybe I should make a pm to Adam/Shane to see if they mind this formula being out there? Suggestion/feedback welcome.

Interesting. I had basically figured out the base plus modifiers for GM exception and colored ingots pre-nerf, but haven't taken the time now.

I do know something seems off that I can make a horned leather suit with a 52 AR (using a runic kit), but the leather suit is just 15 AR. That seems like a huge jump. The funny part is 52 AR is exactly what a valorite archer suit gave pre-nerf.
 
Yeah my formula works perfectly for every piece of metal based armor there is, I have tested it extensively, but it's another front on leather armor. I am REALLY close, just haven't had the time to get there yet. I'm like 1 off on 3 pieces, just got to hone my formula a tiny bit for the leather, strange that it is different from the metal though eh?

Actually AR should be era accurate in regards to dex loss and armor rating per GM Adam.
 
Heh I read that post as well, and as far as I can tell that is true on the base AR's and the Dex penalty. However, there are many other factors at work here. I am not going to go into them, but there are at least 3 other factors I have taken into consideration. When I researched this info on the net, it was wrong. At least it did not apply to the mechanics on THIS shard. Info was probably correct, it was just not correct for this shard.

That being said, it did lead me in the right direction to figure out the formulas as they work on this shard in particular.
