trade runs

so i had this idea for uo that isn't original but imo pretty cool ok..
trade runs.
people sign up for a trade run at a town and a wagon takes off to where ever the specified destination town is. along the way mobs or whatever could come along and the people who signed up could protect it. maybe the wagon takes some damage so one of the people who signed up uses the carpentry skill to repair it ? perhaps a tamers pet could assist in pulling the wagon faster than other peoples pets if it had good stats ? w/e fill in the blanks with cool shit that this could bring about. suppose some pk's come around and destroy the wagon and get some sort of loot out of the wagon. maybe the wagon can shoot somehow , jk anyways yeah i think this would be fun to either do or try to stop people from doing with a pk character. on the final ya the wagon makes it to the town and then everyone who signed up could get some sort of reward/prize.

a friend of mine wanted to add that it'd sure be neat if fallen trees could get in the way of said wagon, and upon reaching them someone could like chop them outta the way and thus spawning a mob of some sort

Sounds complicated to code for an automated event.
Sounds possible for a live action event hosted by staff.

Maybe instead of a wagon it's just some VIPs you have to escort. Like an endgame version of the shitty escort NPCs. The staff would replace the NPCs and have boss health so they could take damage from mobs and players kept them healed. That would take away from the taming and crafting skill usefulness for wagon related stuff though. Idk, your idea sounds fun!
 
the vip thing sounds awesome and much more doable. i was thinking it could be somehow a gold sink. Such as if you were to join it would cost x amount to start, and as result of completing the adventure you get y in return, maybe even a rare or something. Also i was thinking that if murders come they could kill the vip/wagon and obtain something out of it, although i believe it should be less valuable then whatever the people who started the quest invested into it.

good idea and could use a full writeup, however, need some rationales why can't the wagon / goods just use moongates? (npc escort quests)

or we are looking at maybe 6-9k (short trips), 12-18k (long trips) for a successful run (600-900 for a successful moongate escort)?

again what kind of goods could be used that moongates can't be used?

i was hoping to just unleash the idea and have it take the shape of whatever people wanted to add onto it. kears those seem like some good inputs. i think a wagon would not fit inetween the rocks that surround all of the moongates lol
