STUCK OPTION-Whats the deal!!?!

how fucking pathetic is it that you @Shane @ eppy @whoever the fuck keeps changing this:

in over a year it has been changed over 3 times:

2 times per day you can use stuck option dead of alive: this was the way of UOF and OSI/UO was for years and years and years

UOF changed to using less than 2 times per day dead or alive

UOF changed to only a few times per week dead or alive

UOF changed to no stuck option for ghosts

UOF changed even if this works anymore...


you can have people get stuck in places with this being a pk server, especially if no one is gonna be on and answer stuck pages that have been left for days ( not recently but over the past year i have noticed)

why do you make these changes? why not tell people? you took away always every way possible to solo get out of battle. some people on here cant run multiple accounts because your launcher/mods/whatever crash when some bring up multiple accounts.

oh and currently the stuck option just pages a GM lmao!!! so great nice fix.....

umm. maybe you're having problems because of trying to help/stuck when grey by accident, or aggressor flag. could even be a thing about doing it in champ zones i dunno how that works tho

always had a 2 minute cooldownish time so if in pvp, you were either found and killed or actually was extremely lucky hide and got away.... it is just super annoying for these ninja fixes and they actually effect peoples game play and maybe they don't realize it...

agreed. ninja is the worst. notoriety was changed in the same fashion, with no community discussion on a 2.5 year old shard. IMO it's just unsportsmanlike and serves as a method for zergers to grief noobs who stand there, trying to recall thinking that they can when they could have been fighting.

Personally if someone is trying to recall then I would rather not fight them, because they aren't willing to fight so it's a waste of my time. How is it ''good PvP'' to be killing the unwilling?

I guess maybe blair can explain that one? But if he wanted to, or had a decent argument on the topic, he wouldn't have stealth changed the shit in the first place. I think the murder count is justice enough for their actions, that's kinda how felucca works.

Really think it's time for some staff to step up to the plate on the notoriety topic and stealth nerfs in general. I really don't see how it has the good of the server in mind to be changing things without the consent of the community. Maybe they think they're better than us? Their best argument for the notoriety changes is that it did actually prevent some Blue PKing, which was a problem, however obviously the best solution was to increase the timer for murder counts if they wanted to see less of it.

At least it doesn't promote zerging. Not even just zerging, but the tye of lazy zerging we see where the reds doing so don't even need to distract recall like they did for the first 2.5 years. I guess maybe the change was stealth implemented so that EQMS could pretend they were ever as good as POWER, who uses razor and couldn't give a fuck if notoriety was ever changed.

What's your take on all this, @halygon ?

The worst part is that the people who are most #affected by the Notoriety changes are not even the people who kill innocent PvMers, it's the returning players who quit for whatever reason (clearly not population since the shard has always been populated. But that's just what happens when you make changes like this after 2.5 years of gameplay without it and no thread in the patch notes about the change.

This is just what we need, to be sending returning players packing because what they get when they come back is no longer the easy going lowscale pvp they probably liked about this server the most, that is currently inexistent, but death by zerg being unable to recall because of a change that doesn't make any sense other than to get them killed.

Really need to update patch notes to explain how the murder changes it says were implemented were removed.

Sadly i have 0 counts and i was a dead blue tamer to notice all these changes. it just would be nice to have clearity over something

Honestly it would be nice to hear if anything was changed in that department, but I'm not entirely sure it has been. I saw you in despise shortly before making this thread, and I'm wondering if you might have been maybe one tile too far in the champ zone.

i took the death gate away from the champ and ran west to where i know you can recall.

i really dont make a big stink unless i have a lot of proof

Yes I tend to be owned by generic comments such as this. I'll assume that you're simply posting for post count, sadly though this does discredit you for the rest of the community for doing so.

Maybe @halygon @eppy @JoeB @Liberty or @Blair could set some kind of example for de-railing like this when it comes to players suggestions. I feel like permanently removing staffs ability to stealth nerf or make changes without discussion is a pretty important topic.

get a ring of forgiveness and you can say "i seek forgiveness" once per day and it teles you to brit healers if you're dead.

otherwise 99% of the time you are not truly "stuck". On an island? get a boat and sail there if you have to. There has only been 1 or 2 times in my entire UO career I think where I was truly stuck with no way out due to a glitched tile or something. I don't see why this is such a big issue...
