Make gorgets in the orc dungeon. Make sure you are full of food and drink. Prepare to die. Just mine a few hundred ingots, make gorgets, mine some more. Wear orc mask, hide if you can. Give orc roleplayers tribuut.

You can also mine directly in orc dungeon, last level. It's huge. I GMed there and I don't think I have ever been killed.

I got killed several times, but it was all in good fun. I mined there for a while after I GM'd before I got my beetle. I started making a shadow dexer suit or two and a shadow war hammer/mace to give for tribuut. I just dropped them on the ground when one of their reds ran up. Sometimes they would go around killing the mobs and bringing me the shadow ore that they dropped. Good times.

1K iron ingots is worth 7-8k, and at this point, you need approx 1k to gain 1%, so any BS ss found at 8k or less is worth buying, and that's true til 120 indeed.

I gain 1.5-3 off every 1k ingots. I craft in the orc cave for best gains, and make sure to make an item with between 60-80% success rate with the least amount of ingots required. it only took me 19k Ingots to GM my first smith. my second one has only taken 5k to get to 76.

If it takes you 50k ingots to GM your probably making the wrong things.

I do however agree at past 100 skill gains.

I'm not too sure at what point you start getting 1% for 1k but at some point, you do. I think it's around 90-95 but I can be wrong. Plus it was some time ago, I might not have eaten/drank.

Ya you slow down a bit when you have to start making plate gorgets (around 95 area) but if your working in the Orc cave you should still get more than 1.0 per 1k ingots.

I agree with Messremb and what he said before,

For me, I gained fastest when my success was in the 80%'s to craft something. Also, craft in a dungeon like recommended. I crafted Short Spears until 100% success chance of crafting and then switched to plate gorgets. Reason being - Short spears take less ingots and with higher crafting success = higher chance of gaining .01 seeing that I rarely gained off fails in the 90's.

Also, make sure you set up a loop macro to craft then smelt. I am sure you have this covered and it may seem elementary to mention it, but important if you have not yet.

Good Luck!
