Shrouds are really cool, I believe it's one of the few faction rewards though and they are trying to push people to joining factions. You could always pick the faction with the coolest color shroud and join!

yeah but i think they should be dyeable or someting atleast but then again they got rewards for silver so i guess im going to faction
