I believe that in order to fish up a ancient sos, a higher fishing skill is needed compared to a regular sos, however I'm not sure that this is entirely true.
With that being said, a ancient sos will spawn two deep water elementals compared to a regular one which only spawns one deep water elemental and one normal water elemental.
The amount of gold will be slightly higher and the type is fishing net inside the chest will always be a pure white one, which is a fabled fishing net. Also the type of chest you'll fish up will be from a different table compared to the chests from normal sos's.
The chest will also be locked and trapped, I'm however not sure how high lock picking skill you'd need in order to attempt to open it.
The fabled net which I mentioned can be thrown into the water to summon Levathian, which is big white sea serpent of some sort. He will be tough and there will be about 5 other monsters spawning together with him. I use my tamer/provoker every time I throw in a net.
The value if you'd sell the bottle itself I'd say would be around 25-35k, and the net would be about 10-12k.
If I were you I'd definitely fish up the sos itself, if you have a provoker I'd also throw in the net once the chest is opened, but it might be wise to bring a couple of your friends along if the attempt of killing him fails.
