So a lot of people it would seem just use max house plots for the storage and don't actually decorate them.
How about to clean up some of the empty 7x7 house plots and encourage more placement of larger plots, I propose a vault! An expensive gp and dollar, max storage plot but only takes up a 7x7 spot and is a simple one story rock building, maybe have a few designs to pick from, so it can match someone's custom house. A fishing designed one, a treasure map designed one, a smithing designed one etc. You can place vaults next to you, or have one hidden away in your secret spot. How fun!
Maybe even have an advanced vault, where a simple vault has no vendor plots but an advanced one can.
