In other versions of UO you can actually rent rooms if you are unable to afford a house or just want to save up for a large house. you can rent, set to private or public and even set up vendors and even lock and secure items inside. You can also rent out larger rooms and buildings (like full buildings in serps hold for about 500k a week if you have the money). Im not 100% that this is what it is or not but I do know for sure in other severs you can actually rent these.
