Magical Weapons

I was curious as to how a naked archer with a regular bow was doing 20-30 dmg per hit on me when I'm wearing 60 AR and my vanquishing axe was doing 10-15 dmg against him.
I'm GM tactics, anatomy swordsman and 94 Lumberjacking.
I paged about it and a GM told me that magical weapons don't do any more damage to players then a regular weapon will. That magical enhancements are for monsters only.
How true is this?

What the GM told you is totally false. Magical weapons apply towards everything, and not just humans or monsters. The only thing I can think of to explain the difference in damage dealt, is that your axe is really worn down and his bow is brand new. Other than that, maybe it was just you being unlucky and him being lucky?

so just to clarify above and beyond, a double axe bought from the weaponry NPC will do less dmg against a player then a vanquishing double axe. Right?
