I am experiencing some serious, serious lag. I haven't experienced this kind of lag related to this attack previously. Before I was getting disconnected then unable to log back in . This is different and I am not totally losing connection. I don't see any discussion about it so I just wanted to check and see if it was on my end this time.

That is a lighter DDOS.
Other ddos was much larger that just nullrouted the network, this ddos is on a smaller scale just enough not to nullroute, but to cause lag.
