Get rid of the PvP section on the forum

You got me forum banned for 4 hours (that I was aware of) because you cried about something that happened 4 months before that and the staff member who issued the banning didn't know that I had already been warned for it (and stopped doing it), so nothing should have happened. Maybe if you hadn't of had inappropriate conversations with people you shouldn't be talking with then I wouldn't have said anything at all.

Since Silly "cry baby" Santa cant stay on topic and wants to switch this to a rant and flame, maybe he should push to have that section opened up again. 99% of the things he posts are negative remarks towards another player or guild, so why not give him a place to spread his negative propaganda? I'm for it, but I can handle a difference in opinion with sarcastic trash talk, unfortunately not many others can. Just put a 1 month time lapse on forum accounts before they can join the R&F section, and make sure they acknowledge that this is a place for high toxicity.

I vote to save the PvP forum, by opening back up the Rants and Flames section. IF R&F isn't going to open back up, then might as well just get rid of the forums in their entirety. If you get rid of PvP for people to post their grievances, it'll just switch to somewhere else even less appropriate. You'll end up banning 50% of the community in the end otherwise.

I think there needs to be a place for it though. The trash talking is part of what a lot of people enjoy. I haven't created but 2-3 forum posts (over 2+ years), as I'm not that obsessed with anyone or anything in this game. But I do enjoy chiming in on other people's grievances to give my point of view.

The rants and flames section needs to be obscured from someone new to UOF, but it should be accessible from the forum pages (like it was in the past). Most of the things people post are just trolling to get a reaction, and if they cant do it in an appropriate place, then they will do it elsewhere. UO is a toxic game if you are competing for end game material. There is a lot of backstabbing, and screwing over of people, which is what makes UO fun. If people want trammel, then go to another server. And if people want to turn the forums into trammel, I say go for, just have a felluca somewhere for the people who can handle it, or they will bring Felluca upon the trammies :)

That's not the case at all. As I said: "Does the Shard really need a publicly visible place for people to insult each other?" What kind of impression do you think the PvP section right now makes on a new player?

Yeah if you look at the fact that it's the same people who are doing this over and over again you should realize that only an incredibly small but very vocal portion of the player base comes here to post and read these shitposts. I know a lot of players who have stopped reading the forums all together because they can't stand reading these posts any more.

That's their fault. No one is telling them to go read that garbage. They're doing it of their own free will. Which, imo, makes them kinda dumb.

As previously stated, the best posters have been banned. Such as the troll to end all trolls, my mentor, the great @so_low

I mean the only reason you're still here and not banned (and are now calling bans on me lol) is because the day you flipped out and wished death on me and my family on this forum i just laughed at how pathetic that was and suggested you edited that shit before someone reported it.
Our 2016 #mostaffected winner @Silly Santa had people banned for much much less than that by spamming report and repeatedly tagging staff.

TL;DR: it's ironic that you, of all people, are crying about what a new player could see in the pvp forum

And yea I think you should get a ban. You comment on every single post made on the forum and you never write anything constructive. You only come here to derail threads and people are annoyed that no discussion can take place here without you interfering and trying to derail. Just look at how you link Silly Santa in every one of your replies here. What the fuck does Silly Santa or me calling you names have ANYTHING to do with the topic?

You whine about staff disallowing pvp talk on discord because of "think skinned people" like me but you yourself are the reason for why it was disallowed in the first place.

Now please find another thread to derail. You wrote most of the comments here and none of them had anything to do with the topic.

False, I did say why i think it's a bad idea. And no, pvp channel on discord wasn't removed because of me, i posted like 6 lines on there one day in the entire times it was up. Not a heavy discord user. So again, you're wrong.

I wrote a couple of tutorials and contributed to countless price checks. Also sold and bought more stuff in here than you could ever dream off.

I'm sorry you're obsessed with me to the point of wishing me death, but your vision is clouded by anger. It's just a game, take it easy

@halygon @Swayze @JennaL do derailing posts in this suggestion and idea subforum warrant warnings on said posts? This seems to be happening quite often lately by some people who post unconstructive posts.

Btw, i'm not derailing this thread, there is simply nothing else to say that hasn't been said already.
For the 10000th time, the pvp section is like the cat litter of the forums. Remove it and the cat is gonna dump elsewhere.
