Fix overpowered armour k thanks

Can u balance it in a way so force and below have a use? Perhaps make ruin equal = gm weps. Cuz as of now. What's the point in anything below force.

I actually asked you this before when I was first changing armor. However, you ignored it then also. If you want to give some input, I am totally fine looking over the numbers again.
Might have been my brother? I don't recall. I also don't have or use IRC.

I'll put the figures in a spreadsheet vs new barbed armour with vanqs and gold runics and get a guildie to publish. And or I'll send a PM. Got to wait for my guild mate with the runic to log on

Ok I made a brand new set of barbed armour and tested the damage vs the following brand new vanquishing weapons and GOLD RUNICS (just crafted and full repair). As you can see a gold runic is just shocking. A vanq katana etc is also awful. Based on the average damage (below) it is clear how difficult it is to kill anyone. At this point dexers are only good in PVM.

Look at that.... Shocking damage. Gold runics are literally a force weapon if you look at the damage done. The damage per swing on a 1 handed is shocking. Physically impossible to kill a mage or anyone who has half a brain.

I'll do naked damage later but you'll find the same thing, a while bunch of buggy 8hp blows etc, when in reality they should be doing MAX damage every hit on a naked person.

Factor in wrestling with this and it just proves a dexer cannot kill someone with half a brain.

I was using my blacksmith with 0 wrestling to do this, I could actually mini heal through the damage from the gold runic katana and vanq katana........ What a joke.

Swingtimer vs Casting time.
Special's like Explopot Damage + Greater Posion / Deadly Posion Damage.
Mage = Manapool vs Endless swinging.

I saw for years a Spreedsheet about that.
with diff calculations about it.
i think it was second ag e.

Casting time's vs swingtimers ( all weapons ) Armor and and and.
Because all that Imbalancing in UO at all is not new.

What the hell? Physically impossible to beat a mage? This is bullshit. Honestly how much damage do you want a katana to do? You do realize that katana has the fastest weapon speed in the game? Katanas swing so fast that it is literally impossible for a mage to get a Gheal or recall off as long as you keep full stamina and stick on them. Couple this with deadly poison and 20 damage explosion pots and you can kill a mage in 5 to 10 seconds while they never get off one greater heal.

with your failed logic, it is of no surprise that you lose with double your enemies numbers.

Those spreadsheet numbers are appalling.

Yes, my dexers still rape alot of people, but that is because most people here totally suck.

Anyone competent would have no problem surviving vs those hits.

Basically armour needs to be nurfed. Invul leather should be that good, not gm barbed leather. Base damage is buggy and runics are obviously broken and don't add an exceptional bonus.

Naked people should be punished by having the weapon doing top 20 percent of its weapon damage range (like uoforever).

Can't believe a gold runic war hammer can't even do 40hp blows lol.

Mages will always have the upper hand in group fights, but dexers should be better 1vs1. Unless of course you remove target closest red or enemy etc (which I hope you do) which would mean every spastic guild such as 247 couldn't target a single person with any coordination.

STOP CRYING.

We're not talking about mages that panic and try to kill people with nothing but explosion+ebolt and then just stand there hesitating. A skilled mage should be able to kill anybody while naked. However, this is a discussion specifically about AR and the existance of AOS era armor in UOR.

Also, you shouldn't NEED explosion pots to kill a mage. It's like everybody just uses it as a shitty version of necromancy that doesn't cost any mana. Poison is totally legit when fighting a mage, but dexxers need to use pots as a crutch to keep up. Its gross.

I'm not sure you understand how dice damage works.

The sample size doesn't seem big enough, but those numbers still speak volumes. I sell those suits for 1300g. Those are easily some of the best weapons in the game.

@Adam, not to sound like a jerk or anything like that, but I'm curious: are we being encouraged to melee pvp with high-end gear(vanquishing and gold runics) or are mages vs meleers supposed to be on an even playing field as far as gold investment goes? I love mage pvp, but I also love meleeing... I just don't want to buy a vanquishing long spear every time I die.

I'm eager to see GM iron weapons vs GM plain leather/barbed leather, as I don't intend on running around with gold runics. If anybody with tactics, anatomy and a weapon skill would like to do some tests, I'd be happy to provide the GM armor and weapons.
Sadly, I don't have a meleer for obvious reasons(though I'd love to pvp with one again)!

I honestly don't understand what's going on in this thread. It all seems pretty balanced to me if you factor in things such as: DEADLY POISON, PARALYZING BLOW, CONCUSSION BLOW, AND CRUSHING BLOW, AGILITY POTIONS, STRENGTH POTIONS.

Those buffs/abilities on top of dice damage, so basically the dexxers in this thread just want to steamroll people with or without armor? That's what I'm understanding here, please correct me if I'm wrong.
Swing speed of katana + 13 dps + 31 damage paraylzing blow from vanq spear.

That seems pretty powerful. I play both classes and it seems balanced to me. I'd like to hear more on this though
