that Map from http://www.uorenaissance.com/map/ Is a must use tool and a great! tip from @Easy Cheese .

In using that map I expand on how I handle doing mibs ..

First I separated the world into a grid system like so .

(TIP: Save that image)

Then In my home I set up 9 chests to store mibs based on the above grid system.

And then using http://www.uorenaissance.com/map/ I sort the MiBs into the appropriate chest indicative of where its co'ords are on the map.

i would select which area I would like to start fishing mibs from, as all my mibs are grouped together based on where there Co'Ords are , I spend less time sailing around .

Also if you use steam, the auto map has a built in sextant display..

this is exactly what im looking for.I was curious if people separated pre-read mibs out into grids.

how do you know what coordinates are what grid precisely? how do you know between A8 and A9 for example? best guess??

Edit: I MIBs for sale for like 1-3k often times. do you get more than that in loot? Ive only done a few and dont recall.

How often do you guys run into pirates too?

I use http://www.uorenaissance.com/map/ and enter the mib co'ords into there . and then it will place a marker .. based on where the marker is placed I kinda eyeball it to decide which Quadrant it belongs in , either way even if your close they will still end up grouped nicely .

For me I buy most of my mibs from other players for usually around 1500 for standard and 25k - 30k for Ancients .
and Yes if you buy mibs for 1500 or even 2k yes your investment is worth it , as long as you dont die and lose yer shit :p

Running into pirates is the best part .. its the only pvp im actually successful in as im a steam user , and not a fan of sallos. But to answer your question , not very often .. usually im the pirate :p
