Factioners in battle running through champ spawn teleporters

Some factioners have been using hide/stealth chars to grab faction scrolls from champ spawns.

They hide 4 screens away from the boss when it dies.

When you do manage to find them and attack them they run to the champ spawn teleporters.

You should get the same cannot flee during the heat of battle for those teleporters as you do for gates and recalls.

Anyone else agree with this? Id rather fight for the faction scroll than have these cheesy multi client stealthers in there exploiting those gates, but thats just me.

Agreed, in order to get a faction scroll you should have to fight for it not weasel it. faction is about PvP and it should remain that way. If the teleporters stay the way they are you can expect to see more whack templates at champ spawns and less REAL factioners

The difference between a gate/recall and teleporters are that with teleporters, you ALWAYS know EXACTLY where the other side is.

I am not sure I understand the need to put a heat of battle stipulation on the teleporters, because that would affect way more than just stealth factioners.

1. There is a big difference between faction and non faction. When a factioner attacks another factioner nether can recall or go through gates.
With people not in factions it is only the attacker who gets the heat of battle prompt.

2. You do NOT know exactly where the teleporter goes because there are multiple teleporters within 2 tiles of eachother. If the player gets near the edge of your screen you CANNOT see which teleporter they went in and youre just making a guess. Combined that with their hiding and stealth and you have an extremely low chance at ever finding them. If you do happen to guess right, they will run to the next teleporters.

There is a reason that factioners cannot recall when attacked, cannot even GO IN gates when attacked etc. these teleporters should be no different, if you want to play the factioner you should assume that risk.

If you do not want to put the combat stipulations on them how about removing the multiple teleporters and having just one at each spawn.

simply remove that 4th extra scroll.. It was intended to bring faction PVP to champ spawns (alongside with no statloss for red factioners at champ spawns, so basically it was thought as being an extra scroll for successfully raiding a champ on a red..), but since the previously mentioned other feature was removed there is NO need for it to stay, IMO.

It does bring some pvp from time to time. But it kills it when there is someone who hides in a corner 4-5 screens away and can still get the scroll.

You dont even have to hit the boss to get the scroll.

You could make it so factioners have to be closer to the boss so if you want to go for it you have to fight / be on screen.

I just dont like right now how people come in on their tamer or mage, and multi client a stealth hiding factioner. They will reverse gate their factioner in 5 screens away and have a good shot at 2 scrolls, with essentially 0 risk. If you do find their factioner they run to the teleporters.

There are ways to remedy this problem without abolishing the scroll (It does bring pvp sometimes), but of course KAZ you will probably flame any legit idea just because youre KAZ.

Well, I just don't think that it helps Factions in the SLIGHTEST when kids play their Provodexxers at Champs... It's a failed idea and has no place on UOF. I've btw. stated that a few times, long before you ever even thought about putting this Thread up.

And yea, I don't agree with your idea, though. I'd rather see them change it that you can't enter Houses once you've been flagged in Factions. Teleporters are a part of the Game and never been restricted by any battle flags whatsoever... But as I said before: It could all be solved by simply removing this obviously broken game mechanic.

Kaz has previously spoken out against it as a whole, it's true. I do think it's annoying when people "abuse" it and I haven't one time brought my factioners to a champ to squeeze an extra scroll out of a champ (shocking being the Trammy that I am, right?) But the fact is...it has generated fights. Plenty of fights. If it has generated just one fight, then it has worked.

No one who is serious about PvP would disagree with the need to generate more PvP on this server. That is a fact. And I mean, if you don't like it just show up and fight these PvM factioners? They have gimped templates, after all.

Where we do agree when we look past whether or not faction scrolls shouls exist at all is this is clearly a failure within that system and it should be fixed.

Thats the whole point, we do try to fight these players with gimp templates, but they have runes marked to every little corner in champ spawns, and hug the teleporters when the boss is going to die. Their gimp template is designed to get gated in hidden for the boss death, and get out

Theyre built strictly for multi client abuse of the system, because the system allows them to get away so easily and be so far away from the boss and still get a scroll.

If

1. they had to be closer to the boss when it died, 1.5 screens away or so

OR

2.They added the heat of battle flag to the teleporters

it would help imo

Im sure there are other solutions as well

Keep 4 scrolls just make it so faction gets 3 x the points so now if they work it they are much but likely to get one but if they eb the boss once and are the only faction the scroll will likely go to someone else.

Yea a factioner should have to get atleast a few k points.

What OP is describing brings barracoon, girana, himself, in flames and bayside queens to mind.
