Digging for Eleys

Does anyone know if the likelihood to dig up an elemental while mining is tied to mining skill? If so, is there a magic number where you are most likely to dig one up? or is it location based? Completely Random?

I think it's random like lumberjack snakes or BoDs. All random.
The real reason for Eles at mining are afk miner.

How sad, I was hoping to mine verite and agapite ingots with a half ass miner. :/

Do they not spawn in mining caves? I gmd mining and blacksmith with ore I mined and haven't seen one yet. Like 10's of thousands of tries. For comparison, I've lumberjacked 2 snakes so far and im at about 75 skill

I believe Staff turned them off a few months ago.
