i don't know shit about tailoring or crafting in general. clothing has durability just like armor right and if i get hit enough it will get destroyed right? do you need to get it repaired or something? what if i buy blessed clothing? will that get destroyed if i get beat on enough?

No, don't have armor, thus they don't have durability. Blessed clothes will not get destroyed upon getting beat up.

Clothes do break. Not all clothes, and not blessed clothes. But if you have certain newbie clothes, they will wear away over time. A strategy I used back in UOR was taking a newbie club to thug PKers with blessed black sandals and letting them reskill me over and over. On OSI, clubs struck feet more often than other spot. After a few reskills, I smiled and said "check your feet". Blessed blacks despawned.

Granted, blessed here protects them, and like I said, some clothes don't take damage (doublets, sashes, surcoats, tunics, kilts, skirts, half aprons, full aprons, dresses, robes, cloaks), but footwear, headgear, shirts and pants will get damaged until they break. Unless they changed it, but I've had a few bandannas break while I've been here.

i thought only some monsters could destroy clothes... this happened to me when a verite/valorite (don't remember) elemental destroyed my newbie (non blessed, but inlootable) wizard's hat

Yeah. Valorite elementals do it (I'm not sure if verites or less do it), and they can pretty much insta-destroy most items in one hit. I don't know if it works differently than durability loss (can they destroy items that have no durability, blessed item, etc.) but I decided not to bother finding out.
