At a loss for what to do next...

Have you not seen my guide about being thief proof? I know the mechanics of everything I use. Locking the box stops me from storing what I am crafting. Thiefs love runic weapons, slayers, runic armor.

Unlocking the box gets my keys stole or my beetle attacked because I have the keys on the bug and you are required to have the keys in your backpack to use them.

People detonate the boxes then I have to re craft the bomb into the box just for them to rez and blow them again...
I saw your guide a while back.

I have crafted just as much as any other truly active crafter and I do all of my crafting at the crafters guild. I can tell you that while theives have tried, they have never stole anything of value from me.

I am confident that all it takes is a plan and a situational awareness(and not even that much of the latter).

Im not losing anything to thiefs either. All im losing is the time I need to craft stuff due to the boxes constantly being detonated over and over and me having to keep recalling out to re do the boxes.

Do people not read what I orginaly posted?

Nothing in my orginal post is about me getting stuff stole from me....

Well if you want to continue your own method, I recommend nesting the trapped boxes inside each other and put your items in the deepest box. You can craft fairly worry free for a while that way.

Already do this. I run them 3 and 4 deep. So heres that scenario...

Had someone this morning using 2 accounts to suicide snoop faster.

What about making keys work outside my pack? At least then I could combat the suicide snoopers wirhout having to leave to re trap/arm... @halygon thoughts?

Nah, I don't think its fair to the theives... balance for all, even griefers.
It would be fair. Is it fair for me to be completely shut down at times because I cant re trap/arm my only defense inside the Crafter Guild because doing so gets my keys stolen?

@Wizx13

You have tried all methods apart from the one that would possibly work best, for a while at least..

Speak to the said thief/thieves IN a nice way, professionally and offer some financial incentive to look the other way. Perhaps if you are a good enough negotiator, you can actually make a decent connection with some of the thieves WHO have a business type mind and will target your competition. If you have spoken to them rudely in the past, you will need to build a repoire but eventually, even the most distasteful of thieves will warm to a few shinies. You could even provide them with a decent Slayer weapon from your collection as a peace offering.

I know it looks like you are brown nosing (kissing ass)... you are brown nosing (kissing ass) but eventually you might even get some seriously reduced deals when dealing with them and they will then be a very valuable asset to you. Most folks attempt the angry approach or fill the bags with extra treasure chests *pouches, boxes* for thieves to snoop, instead of advertising yourself as a potential FREE atm machine, advertise yourself as a customer to the underworld.

Of course there will always be a thief who is harder to crack than most, but everyone has a 'sweet' spot tis just a matter of finding it...

Remember though, this will cost you, not a vast amount I might add, but consider it something like a bill, you are paying someone for a service...

crafters are right on this topic. there are those griefer thieves that hang around brit crafting area a lot, and u have to waste time for stupid things like trapped boxes etc all the time. crafting already doesnt make much Money , people do it for fun.

brit crafter area is supposed to be a social place for crafters mainly, and warriors should be hanging there to buy some weapons, armor etc. instead, its a danger thief zone.

you either waste time trying to protect yourself vs thieves, or just get some of your valuable things stolen sometimes. so crafters have 2 options
1)waste time with anti-thief things
2)have some of your things stolen.

and negotiate with thieves? thieves of this server are playing just to grief, abusing everything possible. they run scripts. and there are probably like 50 active thieves total. most of em play just a few hours but still, which one will you negotiate with? and they are annoying grievers, you want to kill them not negotiate with them.

if forensic identification skill worked properly and instantly made thieves criminal to you when you used it on them, there would be thief hunters around. That would be an interesting solution to this .

So your approach is to fill a bathtub with tears and kill those who can and will return when criminal timer has worn off, clever approach. As for forensic identification, it does work to a level and I have seen and *befriended* a few detectives who actively seek out thieves, so with enough leverage, even thieves can immunise them self from players dedicated to killing thieves.

As for negotiating, you in-fact, seek out the thief with the most push, gets on with all or most others and provide that thief with incentive to stop doing what they are doing, with just a couple of easy steps you can pretty much protect yourself openly, without turning to major anti-thief methods.

The biggest issue here unfortunately is the SENSE of entitlement. An area is dedicated to providing a benefit and automatically, this is MY area and not YOUR area. You might have all the issues in the world against thieves, the issue is YOU not adapting to a class that has and will always be around, let alone a class which has probably more nerfs than all other classes combined. This reminds me of all the threads about reds and I can finally see WHY reds take it so personally, cause I take this issue personally myself.

How does one adapt? YOU try something different which has NOT worked before, something like I added above. You want to know why I provided that example? BECAUSE it works... I am a thief, been a thief for many years on OSI, uoforever and here and I understand how people tick, something crafters should also know but some, apparently not.

*Script stealing is bottom of a cess pool, where all the microbes who couldn't get enough to eat from shit and stuff, feeding on their bloated brothers and sisters who died of pigging out to much on... shit..*

I take the stance of a thief and a crafter. I go to that area as both. What are you really losing? I'm not a script thief because I like to pick and choose my prey. Honestly you shouldn't be afk trying to craft slayers/running a macro. That alone to me makes you a target since you're being lazy.

Bringing a beetle also makes you a target. If you go there looking like a poor noob you might avoid some thieves. Name change deed might be a good idea because it seems like you are being specifically targeted.

Craft at home. Stop being a baby. If you want the extra bonuses that the crafter's area provides then there is going to be some risk.

Darkarna makes a good point about offering something to the thief. I know for a fact the OP did something really nice for my thief quite a while back... I never bothered him again and Ive kept my word to that
