Ancient Smithy Hammer Changes

Put some more value to AS hammers by making it so you can use an ASH charge along with a runic hammer charge to have better odds at crafting a runic slayer. From what I can tell, you can only craft regular weapons with a higher success rate while using an ASH, but most people don't waste their AS hammers on that, although they would if you could use them together with runic hammers.

Everyone would want a +60 ASH when crafting with high end runic hammers. AS hammers of all kinds would become desired, but especially the ones that are hard to get. I always turn my +60 ASH BODs into bronze runic hammers because +60 ASH is a waste.

As it is, both +30 and +60 AS hammers are nearly worthless to me. With +15 and 120 BS, the worst of the regular plate armor is crafted exceptional with a high success rate at Brit crafting area.

you can use a runic hammer and a ASH at same time, you equip the ASH, and double click the runic hammer in your backpback.

but once you have gm smith you are almost 100% each wep will be gm and there is no runic smith armor. but i like that they need to have a better use for these hammers.

I think he knows that, he's just asking that it actually give you a boost to something more than the exc chance to make the hammers more useful. Which I'm definitely for!

Supposedly, the higher BS skill you have, the higher the chance of crafting a slayer weapon. I have read many things on this forum that turned out to be inaccurate, so I can't say for sure.

If the way the ASH works as is alleged, the ASH would be using a charge once you equip it and then click on the runic hammer to craft a weapon. But, I see no uses of the ASH charges once I equip it and then craft a runic hammer. So, it seems as though the ASH has no effect if you merely equip one and then use a runic hammer that is in your pack, otherwise the ASH would drain a charge.

Doing as I suggest, this would make blacksmiths into dual wielding hammer specialists. These smiths will have an ASH and a runic hammer in both hands, while they pound on their creation under a hot forge or anvil. The results are a higher chance of a runic slayer weapon, which uses both an ASH charge and a runic hammer charge.

Actually if you go back and check (you may have to unequip the ASH) you'll see that it does burn charges from the ASH but it's buggy and not reflected in the remaining ASH charges until after some fiddling around.

I thought I wasn't burning charges at first, but they caught up eventually.

I just now tested it using a shadow runic and +10 ASH. The ASH is indeed using a charge once I click on the shadow runic and craft with it.

Is this suggestion already in the game, or is it "bugged"?

Can we confirm that using an ASH along with a runic already increases the chance of a slayer weapon, or that higher BS skill does anything to increase the odds of getting a slayer?

I can only speculate that the slayer % chance is capped at 120.

Hell, maybe the % bonus goes all the way up to 180 but no one has burned enough charges trying it to confirm?

I've barely used my +10 hammers and only filling a small handful of BODs.
