Its been fun working on a meta dexer. I’ve got a few ideas for additional content that could be added for meta dexers/mages so that players can continue developing their primary character.
Since meta dexers and mages don’t have to grind or face the risks like tamers do the changes proposed are largely cosmetic and wouldn’t offer huge PVM advantages that would disrupt the balance.
One interesting idea is to offer incentive for different types of meta mages/dexers to group together. Berserkers, resilience, and meta mages would benefit from working together in a party. The idea would be similar to groups in other MMO’s where you need different classes for different things. Resilience metas might grant defensive auras to their party members and berserkers could add offensive buffs, etc. It would be fun change of pace to conquer RDA’s/bosses with this approach.
Meta dexers/mages could specialize their characters as specific slayers. For instance, if a warrior kills a ton of demons then they would gradually receive slight buffs or special abilities related to the mobs they are killing. If buffs or abilities are considered too over powered then you could just receive cosmetic rewards. Killing a ton of demons for a quest could grant you the ability to achieve special hued mounts, clothing, weapons, armor, etc.
Meta dexers/mages should be given the opportunity to work on their primary weapon. Meta tamers have their meta pets to grind but dexers just use whatever throw away weapon they have. It would be fantastic if dexers/mages could put work into a blessed weapon. The blessed weapon/spellbook would be more of a container than an actual weapon. We wouldn’t want to harm the market for runics/slayer weapons. Basically, the blessed weapon would achieve slight abilities based on the mobs you fight. If you want extra damage or slayer damage then you could double click your runic/slayer weapon and sacrifice it to your blessed weapon. If you die then the runic/slayer weapon you sacrificed drops on your body and you would receive a penalty on your blessed weapon. The blessed weapon would look cool but basically be worthless if you don’t sacrifice a weapon to it. That way you don’t have to worry about PvM’ers running around risk free with blessed weapons.
