thanks for visiting my profile. Maybe one day you will stop being so ignorant and start to try out and learn things before you talk bad about them. You might also want to try out the official UO servers since they're designed for players like you. Please don't take all of this all too personal. It's okay. This game ain't for everyone.

Absolutely, I don't think I'm any more raging than you are? Natually people didn't like to hear what I had to say about their 'baby' and jump on me instead of reading the content.

I know how this works, especially in Ultima & D&D type games. Nerds spit their dummies out if you so much as diss any dynamic of a game. I agree I am a noob and don't fully understand, but my perception hasn't changed, it has great potential, ruined by assholes and enabled by exploits, it's slowly dying

Unfortunately your lack of experience in this game blinds your eyes. Infact, most of those "exploits" you've most likely encountered are nothing but people knowing the game mechanics 100%. If you'd try and learn the game, I'm sure that you could see the beauty of it. Instead, you're losing yourself in cheating claims and unfounded accusations against Staff. A real shame.

It's quite possible you're right about the exploits/mechanics. But to be fair I've seen far too many inexplicable things. I'm not getting lost in accusations as some have foundation. As for accusations against staff, do you mean by saying they don't care? That's hardly a grevious insult, nor is saying the coding has enabled various anomalies. .

They get paid to do their job, if the job is incorrect or performed poorly then as with EVERY other profession something should and will be said. Some Gamers get right up the asses of Devs as if they're meeting their gods. And don't you dare talk ill of my god etc

Do you realize that this is a FREESHARD and not the "real-deal"? Back when EA bought UO from Origin (and actually even before that) the UO community basicly split in two. Some people remained on the official Servers and others went and created their own Shards which are mostly (like UOF) built around the Renaissance Era of UO (live on real Shards from roughly 99-22 or smth).

Projects like UOF are financed through donations and even THOUGH UOF pays their developers SOME money developing on here can't be regarded as being a fulltime job.

I could also guess that they're sometimes overwhelmed with the amount of pages of people that haven't read up on game mechanics. It's not their job to explain the game to anyone - Shards like UOF have dedicated players (on UOF they're flagged with "the Companion" after their playername) to do so.

So if you'd like to give UO another shot, you should simply look out for one of them OR join us in the official UOF IRC channel. There's not only "assholes" on UO but yea, to some extend they're what makes this game so unique.

No I didn't know it had split, but that sounds just like greedy EA to me. I don't expect anyone to do the work for me, there's a lot of conflicting information. I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise as we got off on the wrong foot

As I said, the majority of people I've met in this community also in the game are worthless, so my perception of the game is such, surely you understand this? Razor only seems to let me join the one shard, which is seemingly full of Assholes. Thanks for the advice I'll see if I can join somewhere else

Basicly the playerbase split. There are several Freeshards (that's what you call UO Shards not affiliated with EA) out there. All of them run on an emulator called RunUO. I'm not sure but I guess that that's also something unique about UO. NP, I like arguing ;)

Are you sure that you logged onto Ultima Online Forever? That's the forums you're on right now. Other than that there's a few other Shards, but this one here is the biggest out there right now. As an assistant program I would also rather recommend "UOSteam" - it's a bit more complicated but offers more functionality.

Yeah my client is for the UOF, I had no idea there were so many, and different forums for each. I think I'm in the right place though. it logs in to uoforever.com I saw something about UOsteam but someone said it was patched? So much misinformation out there

Yea, I don't even wanna know how it is to be new to this game in 2014. There are several other Freeshards out there (though, as an experienced player I would highly recommend this one here, even though there might be one that COULD suit you as a really new player better since it's not as hardcore)
