Explosion potions and player balance

OK so explosion potions should not be aarequirement to pvp. I suggest giving other skills a boost. If explosion potions does 30 damage. Make spirits speak give a 30 damage boost to ebolt. Arms lore gives 30 damaged to weapons. Etc so alchemy isnt on every singles pvp build. Its boringb

Likewise, allow a a sneak attack from stealth against players, so stealth rogues can be competitive.

Pk slayer armor and weapons. Slayer but for red players. Pkers already pk without any repercutions or fear. Ganking you while your fighting monsters, and 3v1. There should be a mechanism to balance pkers risk. To many ppl Pk because there is no risk, and no penalty. Only raw reward.

Which leads me also to ask why reds are able to be in town without guards killing them. It's unnerving to sees them.

Explosion potions might be a requirment to kill competent players in solo PvP but it's not a requirment for group PvP so your first senetence is not entirely true.

If a red dies they can be stated and not able to play that char for 2 days. Seems like a decent risk/punishment to me.

Reds in town can be good for getting people into the PvP scene. Calm your nerves bro. They can't attack you unless you attack them first.

All your other suggestions seem like they would be even worse then what we have now with explosion pots.

Not sure if you're new to the server, or just new to the forums - but on this server, potions are working as intended because people don't fight here - they run 10,000 screens when attacking and not at a clear advantage. To try and curb some of that, potions do borderline ridiculous damage so that people actually die during PvP fights - if potions weren't in, nobody would die, they would just run until the person chasing them gets bored and gives up.

Welcome to UO:F if you're new.

I'm not saying to nerf potions. I'm saying to buff othrr skills. This will allow another build to also be able to kill as well. Like if i use a spear and pop out of stealth and paralyze, then burst them down before they can run. Or if I'm an archer some way to kill a mage before he gets off screen. Or make the talisman ability to lethal poison effect players. There are 100 ways to allow build diversity, without forcing us into only one viable buildb

It doesnt matter if they cantc play for 2 days they have multiple accounts with multiple character. And it takes 1 day to skill up a new account

Sounds great to me. If i can just run from a pker sounds like a good balance to me.

Maybe if a single explo pot scripted didnt do 25 damage (25% of max health in most of case) less people will run.

Will be easy to test, just remove alchy bonus for two week so every explosion will do 10-12 and lets see

Also, why try to force pvp onto people? Wouldnt it beb better to allow people to play how they want?

It does matter... The stat loss will add up. People can get stat on multiple chars in just a few hours.

I believe people are more likely to just log out of uof for 2 days instead of deleting their red and making a new char.

I'm not saying there isn't people out there with 10+ pk chars. I'm saying they are in the minority which makes your argument false...

I'd also like to add to this the fact that there are hardly any pks at all. I've spent a decent amount of time looking for them in dungeons and they are few and far between.

So you want to add further punishments to a class of players that are already on the decline?

Ultima Online is a sandbox game. Not getting to choose when you PvP is part of the dangers of this game - and with most players it's part of the allure.

Hey some people eat crap and actually like it.

If they haven't by this point, purples aren't going to change. Yes it's lowest common denominator garbage but such is life in Sosaria.

We accept this turd sandwich.

Pkers are a Huge problem. They make up at least 80% of all encounters with other players iveI had, every 30 minutes to an hour they roll through deceit, despise, shame, wrong. As a newnplayer they areain all the areas that vets no longer farm. They are an epidemic in areas new players go. And not just reds either, blue will attack you if they see you are low on hp while fighting. Guys from city, t&l, $N$. Constantly roam lowbie areas.
