With a server this big you think it would switch to a more updated means of communication. Any Staffers can answer.It is a much better way of communicating than IRC.
Why is it a server this big does not use discord?

I have said, the same thing. They're literally hurting their community by not converting.
uorevealed (which I do not play) have gone from active 100 on release to over 400 in less than a month.
They keep updates and announcements going in discord, it's great.

Superior form of modern communication, I am sorry but IRC is so 2005. It works in a manner where it promotes community. Text is all well and good, but any any intelligent being knows...it can be lost in the translation when writing.

You are right. I have not read the updates at all, so does that mean they are going to use it?
But....why wait to get discord...its free and people are able to use it now, much like other servers..Its not like it is some new fangled super secret thing to be released.

We all feel truly privileged that you have chosen Ultima Online Forever as your home. We are going to keep the Ultima Online Forever dream alive from now until forever.

Sounds interesting, never bothered to get IRC going but would be nice to see when someone has posted my location in IRC and atleast have an inkling when the hunting party has gathered their torches and pitchforks.

IMO it should be used now. there is no reason to not implement it at any rate. I could actually verbally express myself to someone I think may be an asshole and find out for sure if he is a real asshole or just rping one. 
I hate to be judgmental, the best cure for that is listening to sort it out. I think we tend to treat people different when we give them a voice/face

Amazing back story, the long story short..
Kid saw his sister in trouble(listen to the song), ended up killing ONE of her assailants and had to do life in prison. Going into prison at the age of 17/18 he had never had a girlfriend previously and when he got out at 38 years old he had never had a girlfriend/kissed a girl.
More to the story, but thats the jist of it.
@Swayze I will stop de-railing, excited for the discord server sooner the better man!
