And to transfer, what do you need?
I just tried to transfer one to my archer and it refused.
If you need taming to have a ridable polar bear it is probably to most lame ride in the world.
It is slightly better than a horse.
If you have taming, you will ride a nightmare or something stronger.
It should be able to transfer to non tamer characters as well. Otherwise it is just lame.

If you can tame it, you can have it transferred. Rideable polar bar is only for tamers. If you want to ride a polar bear as a non-tamer, sadly ethy polar bear (dehued if you want the polar bear look) is the only way.

Yeah! I know that if I can tame it I can have it transferred (to me). But that's not my point.
The point is, as a tamer, the rideable polar bear is just a useless good looking mount.
Ill be riding a nightmare instead.

raise taming get it transferred/bonded and drop it back down

Yes. I have. Probably would depend on how high you needed to raise it and how much you truly cared. Loyalty would remain fine if you aren't trying to command it around too much and stabled every now and then.
