Warrior template for Champ Spawns?

I see a lot of Archers and Tamers but how do Warrior builds fair at Champ Spawns?

For example the Deceit Champ, If I used my lumberjack with a Decent [power/vanq] Silver axe would I stand a chance at getting a power scroll?

Is it simply a case of the more damage I do to the mobs the more likely the chance of getting a scroll?

You would probably want something like a macer/bard. Peace/provo anything that hurts you, area peace when you get swarmed, maces do decent damage without modifiers such a lumberjacking. However Swords is a pretty good route, maybe use a DPed viking sword for the champ boss. I havn't tested any of this, it just seems to me like these would be viable templates for champ warrior, parrying & inscription would be a pretty powerful combination when we're talking about champ spawns at least, parrying with scribe reactive armor on with a decent suit of armor would make most monsters do little to no physical damage to you and if the spawn used magic you could throw on magic reflect and still have parry to protect you from physical attacks. So the parry/inscription swordsman or macer would be my suggestion.
