Those new rules on scripting of taming?

New rule since yesterday:

"USING THE SKILL ANIMAL TAMING unnatended is prohibited and bannable. Any sort of "scripting" using this skillset will be punishable."

What constitutes "scripting"?

Cannot use a macro at all, like peace and then start taming?

Or a macro that retaims on fails and follows the target... is that scripting?

If so, using that attended would be "punishable"... meaning prison? Or ban?

*confused*

As long as you are not totally afk you can macro certain functions of the taming process. Like to peace, pause, attempt, and re-attempt on fail. Not sure about following I know that some people have been banned for having a script to follow and tame while afk. I assume that if you do it "right" and are at your keyboard as long as you are attempting tames you'll be ok.

Unattended is probably the keyword. I've never had it happen but heard other shards have like a little pop-up gump GMs can make appear if they think you are AFK. If you dont answer the gump in a set time they ban/jail you.

It seems like the GMs pop up next to you to check if you're AFK'ing or not in this shard. It has happened twice to me, so I guess this is how they handle it around 'ere.

This is true. I had one "just check up on how things are going" while I was mining for a while in Cove. Probably was surprised when I answered them.

This rule has been enforced for about 5 months, but with so many things on the go, slipped our minds to revise the rule page.
Generally speaking, we just jail the people doing it (to stop the macro) for a few hrs until they page to get out, and let them know the rules.

Basically what this entails is:
It is NOT permissable to tame a bunch of bulls, great harts yadda yadda, drag them into a confined area or dungeon corner, and afk tame each one via scripts. When I find these groupings, I just kill them all. We don't want creatures scattered all through the facet screwing over spawn timers for others. Simple as that.

The taming skill is a pretty end game pvm thing. Once you're there, ya make tons of cash. As such, we're VERY generous with pretty much every other skillgain and even the afk manner in which people do them. But taming is something we feel people should work hard for. Be it taming, or farming for the skillscrolls to increase it.

Lastly, for clarification, it's totally fine to set a razor macro to tame a difficult mob over and over, providing you're at your keys. If one of us pops in to check and you're able to respond, no problem. Carry on. But just like miners, we do like to wait xx time to do potential re-visits to sway people from thinking "I'm in the clear now".
