Thievery & Dex

I have a question that I am hoping someone can help me with. What is the advantage of having high dexterity for a thief template that is not for fighting. I'm trying to decide if I really need dexterityor if i should max my intelligence instead, because my char will have GM Magery.

If your gonna be a magery thief, you can go 100 strength, and 100 intelligence.

As far as I know, and I am almost positive, DEX only determines your swing speed with a weapon & your bandage heal time

Dex has no affect on any thievery skills.
