It pops up...interrupts movies im watching and alot of other things....saying my microsoft windows is not valid.
this comes up every 45 minutes or so.
When I click the calidate button that takes you to the microsoft website it just gets stuck on validating.
Is this a virus. I know for a fact the windows im using is valid and not pirated.
Anyone else have a fic for this or experienced this?
did you get a fix?
is this some sort of virus?

Could be a virus that has messed with your registry. Personally I would back up any information you can't afford to lose and when you reinstall windows try to set up two separate partitions. One that's about 60 Gigs for your OS and a separate one for your Gaming files. Just make sure before you execute any files that you've backed up you scan for viruses with an up to date virus scanner.

This will not really stop a virus from getting to your registry.

The purpose of having an OS partition (mostly used on servers) is to prevent people from having access to the data partition that shouldn't.

As far as the validating process goes -- try using their phone number to validate instead of validating online. Their phone number is fully automated so you don't talk to anyone, just put in the code that they give you on the screen and it will spit validation code back at ya to type in.

Have you loaded windows on two computers from the same registration (unless a corporate license of course). If you had to reload windows onto the same compter, even, Microsoft may be seeing that as a second install, or if you quit using one computer and loaded its windows onto another.. same thing. Simple call to Microsoft and they can change the one its registered to, no problem.

The only reason I say that is in the event that you need to reinstall the OS, you don't have to reinstall all your programs.

For most windows programs, they would still require reinstall as they update registry and stuff within the OS, even if installed on a separate drive/partition.

Ok so if I have a virus and my antivirus program is not picking it up what do i do?

If It really is microsoft picking up an "unvalidated" windows due to w/e reason...what do i do?
let me see if i got it right....call them...they somehow put a code on my screen, then type it in? im kinda confused by that.
