I have an old boat that I bought but I haven't used it yet but my question is...can it be destroyed if I put it in the water?

I wouldn't want to put it in the water only to see it get attacked, sunk and destroyed by someone.

If you scuttle it or it gets sunk, the ship model returns to you bank.

The ship model is also blessed while in your backpack. This goes for all ships/galleons.

Nope. If sunk you do lose your upgrades (fishing trawler, crow's nest, superb sails, etc) but your ship goes to your bank.

I have another ship question, If I buy upgrades for my boat, are the upgrades permanent? Or will they disappear if my ship gets sunk and force me to buy them all over again?

You are sunk they are gone unless you take another boat back and the person (s) who sink you didnt loot your chest. Cannonballs included

I have a question as well. If pirates attack you in town waters, can you call the guards? If you can, what happens to the attacker and his ship?
