You have to take the plot down and replace it using a placement tool and trial and error.
Do it during the slow hours and with a few friends around if you are concerned about unknown players coming around and catching you with your pants down.

Thanx for the info.... upgraded from a 7x7 to a 10x10.. thought i could get some more room, but do little mushrooms really block the foundation from going down?
