New Boat System-How to get others people pets off your boat

was doing a bit o' piratin' and happened to capture someones pet with the new net system. How do i get the pet off the boat with the new boating system? i thought you would use a green net to get the pet off boat like you to do capture it but i found out quickly this doesn't work.

There actually is no way to get the pet off of your boat with the net. I believe the fishing nets are being revisited by staff.
