Much needed Fafnir changes.

Well, that was a fuckin mess earlier. Fafnir (and the magma does he turns players into upon death by fire) do not rubber band from the entrance and 'ol Faffy does not like to be pulled once he settles in there. That needs fixed for sure.

The second most important thing that needs fixing is his wing attack. The AoE radius is much too large. If you miss the broadcast message that precedes the attack and so much as think about getting within one screen of him you get locked in. Which is fine if it's just flames he dragging you through, but Destard is a very unforgiving dungeon to be locked into his wing attack.

Reduction of the AoE would be much appreciated.

If you aren't a Provo archer with healing you're basically toast. Dexers...forget about it.

Does the server still crash 50% of the time the boss dies? That's another problem I think we'd all like to see fixed :p

The only time the server crashes is when Fafnir dies at the exact same time as the world save. Definitely needs to be fixed but it's not a 50/50 thing.

Fafnir being at the entrance does suck but that is on the players to either not take him there or move him away if he does get there. Player problem, not a dev problem.

As for the excess spawn, it is best to have someone take care of it while others kill Fafnir. Yes, I am pretty much saying that someone has to bite the bullet and not get a powerscroll but the few times I do Fafnir, I take my provo tamer to kill all the other shit that people feel the need to bring to us and it goes SO move smoother. The spawn is another thing the players have to deal with like not taking Fafnir to the entrance of the dungeon. Player problem, not a dev problem.

Dexers do a BOATLOAD of damage to Fafnir. Trust me! 200+ damage with a LJ is insane! You just gotta have the balls and the know-how to get it done.

The -only- think I'd like to see changed is the range of him flapping his wings. No joke, he pulls me in and I can't even see him on my screen... It has a crazy range on that ability. I'd say the best range for the flapping ability would be the same range as his crucible attack which is 12 tiles. 12 tiles is too far for archers to continue shooting arrows, too far for mages to fling spells, and too far for provo to work.

I honestly think the wing attack AoE is 1.5 screens. No hard evidence for this but it's ridiculous for sure.

I think combining reduction of the AoE and fixing the rubber banding at the entrance would help a lot as far as the wing attack screwing players over with mass aggro from spawn. A lot of dragons and shit stack up at the rubber band boundary which makes it much worse than if Fafnir is trapped in another part of the dungeon.

Maybe Fafnir should spawn in the back near the crystal depository, back behind the Champ altar?

I tried fighting him on my meta dexer the other day (I know you remember Bradley) and got some big double damage hits but I died 186 times in the process and lost a bunch of gear.

I don't think Fafnir should loot players but that's just me. He's a boss, so it's whatever.

Yup dexer rocks if you know what you are doing. I was at that mess today. Came in at 40% life fought until 20% life then had to take a phone call and still ranked 4th in damage.

Sometimes he does spawn there. Each time Fafnir is spawned, he spawns in a random location on a random level of the dungeon. I've done him on the 2nd and 3rd level of Destard as well. Much more challenging in tight spaces with his AoE abilities. He spawns on the 1st level most of the time and it isn't hard to pull him to the back behind the champion spawn area. It is MUCH easier to kill him there.
