Meta Pets Suck?

Seems to me that a ton of Meta Pets are being sold. Some of the elite PVMers are selling theirs. Was their some new nerf?

Or is it that people are tired of their PVM Meta Pets getting killed by griefers and then costing a ton gold in SS to replace the lost points?

I haven't been able to log on much due to I am getting ready for a deployment, but I get on my phone and check the forums and just see scary number of Meta Pets up for sale.

Funny thing is, price of relics have gone up?

Anyone else see this as a cause for concern.

i am gues death beetle+saved money much better than Meta pet
with 120 taming and 120 lore have only 70% successful chance to control very sad
relics cost 5-10kk crazy:(

not happy to say but meta pet = epic fail :((((

Yup... Definitely makes me wonder what's wrong and makes me question why I should continue. Nothwithstanding all the Pokemon master trammie flames but my primary motivation to play and donate was to work on this supposed endgame feature... Now it seems lackluster?

As for the burnt out argument, most of these people (@bradley-, @MTBowl) have had their 7s for awhile so it's not like they just got there and are disappointed in what they got?

So why sell now when market prices for trained metas are so crap?

When I still had my meta and was discovered in a dungeon, people would gate in 2-5 tamers for the sole purpose of killing my pets and then have a blue gate them all out. After the 20th time (in the span of 7 days), I got tired of it.

Death beetles do the job just fine & they listen better. And you're right about the relic prices. 5m-10m is absolutely insane.

-Unfortunately, there is an insane number of players on UOF who have only one mission when they log in: Grief and harass as many people as possible until they log out. Having a tamer isn't worth the headache that comes along with it.

Other than that, meta-pets are fine. They don't suck by any means.

I don't know what the control rate is for 120 taming and 120 lore but I have 120 of both skills and I've given commands upwards of 15 times before my meta would listen. That scenario is few and far between but it does happen. Most of the time the pets listen fine with 2-3 commands.

Interesting, I would have assumed 120/120 would be 100% success rate. If that is not the case, then something is broken here.

Players choose the price if relics.
Although I have been a supporter of 100 % control for a long time. At 120/120 of course.

I am positive they have already increased the drop rate... the price of relics are dropping, that isn't as concerning to me. When you have multiple relics for sale and people constantly bumping them, that is exactly what you want to see as a tamer.

People are just cashing out before the price drops. Meta's are great but not at the huge price that most are asking.

The long/impossible way to raise meta pet skills and the pricetag (and the constant work to find anyone selling) on skillscrolls makes meta pets a prime target for harassing. I don t remember anyone even caring about killing my pets before i had a meta.

I found myself logging in less on my tamer - and when i do, i take my beetle out.

With dexer talismans u have some viable (and much cheaper) pve templates too

As Bradley said, there's a serious troll problem here on UOF like I've never experienced on any other shard and level 7 meta pets are a prime target, especially because they have hearing issues and don't always hear what command you've said but I put that down to their old age.

There's one guy in particular who doesn't ever log off (imagine the South Park WoW guy) and his sole purpose in the game is to lure mobs, attack when you're at 20% hp, attack all meta pets, go grey looting if you happen to die, call anyone that dies a "noob, can't play", camp his enemies houses, go to EVERY champ spawn, and try and draw attention to himself by selling rare items for 10x the value and claim them to be cheap. I kinda feel bad for him that his real life has led him to this course of action and that he devotes so much time into trying to ruin other's fun for his pleasure.

If there's one thing to campaign for it's giving trolls like this our support so they can be integrated back into society and function once more to help steer our society away from this pointless name-calling, aggression, and making fun of other's real life situations.
