Lockpicking problem

Hi, Im another newb/oldie from long ago.
Im working a THunter, I bought his LP to 40ish
My Tinker made me some lockboxes, unfortunately he is a 55 Tinker, so I cant open them (don't know how to manipulate this)
I remember that you could pick gold boxes in towns to gain, and I have, but they are few and far between it seems.
Before I go begging for some lower lockboxes, I was wondering if there was anything else I could do.
Id appreciate any info for getting from 40 to 50 ish. All the other threads seem to be for 50+ and on.

Train hi as possible then buy a lock pick set ppl around bank usually have some. Seth ya

I assumed that the 40 is as high as I could train...should I see someone else?
