Is there a limit on the number of guilds in an alliance?

I heard that the number of guilds in an alliance was limited late last year but some players have told me that was reversed and others have said that wasn't.

Is there a limit on the number of guilds in an alliance?

I believe there was a restriction but it is now removed.
