hey out where I have no wifi but want to tether my phone to my laptop to play but I'm trying to get a rough idea of how fast I'll burn through data. I currently have 2 gigs to use up in 3 days just curious if that's a few hours or like 2 days worth of playing. Thanks!

3 weeks worth of uo. Uo uses literally minimal data. Do not stream the death cam or anything but uo with 2 gigs for 3 days you could leave on the whole time.

I had my gate-bot going at the bank 24/7 tethered to my phone while I was at my cottage. Used 3 gigs over 3 weeks.

So many people do this apparently. I had no idea some people were actually playing through their phones haha.

I wish I could play on my phone / tablet, Just when you do tether it make sure you restrict access from your lap top, I found that out the hard way. Windows and background programs will eat your data.

This is actually a little different from the remote desktop app I was telling you about. Tethering is just using phone signal to connect a PC to the web locally via cable or Wi-Fi. Virtual desktop will allow you to straight up use 3G/4G to access your home PC and do pretty much whatever you want on the go. 4G is about as good as Wi-Fi btw, minor lag.

Absolute game changer. Buy/sell/trade has never been easier and BOD pulls are a breeze.

That being said, touchscreen UO can be a nightmare at times. I need to test out a Bluetooth mouse if I can find one Android will support. Logitech software is not supported probably on any mobile devices besides windows phone...if even that. All you get is left-click on an unsupported device which means you can't even walk without using a virtual keyboard and using the NSEW arrows lol.

I played tethering UOForever for about 3-5 months. You are going to use about 30 megs per day, for your master account and roughly 5-10 for each extra account you run alongside your master account.
You can get PDAnet if your phone is unlocked and put it on a laptop as well and that will allow you to mask your laptop behind your cell phones tethering package. Basically you can tether without 90% of your programs pulling from your data. You will still get data usage on your phone but PDAnet will take up to 50% even with a phone that is not unlocked. My phone was not unlocked and I would have for instance 300 mb used on my phones Tethering plan and under PDAnet I would have 500 megabytes used. So instead of using 800 Mb, only 300 showed up. Very helpful program for people that live in the sticks and wanna bootleg some Netflix / Roku off of their 3g / 4g internet package. You pesky hackers!!
Hope that helps.

PDAnet is definitely good shit, got me out of a couple jams when my router shit itself and had to be fixed remotely/replaced.
