How do "stealable rares" work?

I heard much about stealable rares, seen many for sale on the forums. But how does it work? Could you give me an example how to do it? Not asking for locations just info about how its done.

An example of this would be stealing books from bookshelves. Although they aren't rare, the same premise is true for stealable rares.

Ah good to know, thanx for reply. Follow question, how do you find them? Are they lying around?, in locked chests? Or how do i know its a stealable rare?

They will spawn in set locations across the game. There is no easy way to find them apart from going from every single location, attempt to steal every single item in the game or as possible. To describe this depressing process : Goto Britain and try and steal every locked down item in the town and also the little houses dotted around west britain.

Its a long process and the problem is you might not even get anything as possibly, most have been found already.

Al right thanks, so they are (not in a container) lying around just as a locked down item in a house but of course a liiiiitle bit harder to find. Can they be inside containers? Can they be on npc:s?

Possibly not, I am pretty sure you don't need any skill to steal them. I feel this should change though and the larger items needing at least GM to steal. Yeah I am biased and only cause I am a thief .
