Help with Taming...

Hi everyone.

I'm really struggling to raise my tamer, I think I've read every guide here and in other forums, stratics, etc.

I reached 60.6 real skill (around 68 shown) and I'm in real trouble finding right mobs.
I know that most people will say to go to Shame, but it's not a real option for me, every time I went there there were already 2 or 3 tamers, so I started to look for a less crowded place.
Based on what I read here, I know I should be in Ice Isle taming polar bears, walrus, wolves and snow leopards. So I went there, and encountered a big problem:

most of the animals where renamed, which means a lot of tamers already passed there and "didn't clean". Sometimes I see MASSIVE groups of animals all with the same name. If I remember well, already tamed animals are more difficult to tame, so... a lot of failed attempts and no skill gains

It is advisable (and useful for other players too) to kill those animals (while training magery or training a pet) in order to have "fresh" spawns? Am I anyway in the right place to tame, or I should be elsewhere (where I'm sure I would find packs of renamed animals so the problem would be the same).

Thanks all for any hint :)

If you have combat abilities go through the Minoc Moongate and travel to the mountain due SW and tame everything along the way. I was still getting gains off of boars. Don't just aim high, taming everything. You'll want to start narrowing down more around mid 70 to stuff like harts, great harts (I think) and bears and grey/timber wolves.

I leveled my taming up using this and never dungeon crawled in a couple of weeks to the 80s real skill. Then I moved to fire lizards in a dungeon for faster gains. Make sure you have peacemaking. Not required but recommended.

I also took breaks to go hunting the couple of weeks wasn't straight endless taming.

PS if an area is filled with already tamed stuff and you aren't able to handle them yet......kill them. The respawn time isn't high but generally if it's already tamed and their is a chance you can tame it it's good give 1 mob around 10ish tries before giving up and killing it. You might even get a gain or two in the attempt. Don't be afraid to purge an area.

Also if you are in a area that has a lot of untamed animals stuck inside a castle for example just PM a GM and they will move them out when they have a chance.

Hope this helps.
