Help for Nepal

Skye Wolfbane

Governor of Trinsic
As some of you know, a Trin member, Jack Scallywag was on Mount Everest when the earthquake hit. He is OK and headed home.

However, his guide group in Calif. have started a Go Fund me for the villages he saw first hand there.

"The govt here is notoriously corrupt and the chance of getting any real help through the typical aid channels are minimal.
Our group started a GoFundMe where the money will go straight to our lead guide who is a respected Sherpa elder in the Everest region, named Dawa Sherpa and who is being assisted by our U.S. Trekking company guide company mountain madness. (Deana our U.S. Guide)." --- Jack Scallywag

Read a little about his journey here and a few pictures he took while there:

This really is an excellent cause. I was excited to see this post and will be contributing. One of my past mentors, Dr. Phanindra Upadhyaya, wrote a book detailing a portion of how deep the corrupt Nepalese government rabbit hole goes, titled Politics of Hegemony and Denial. I encourage anyone interested in the world outside of their own respective box to check 'er out (because if it inspires anyone to part with even a dollar, it was worth it). Also: Glad you made it home safe Jack!

Woah, seeing something like this on UOForums makes me happy to be part of this community. At times i'm sure we all see posts that make us question being here but seeing our community come together to help strangers that are less fortunate than us is legit. Good game.
