Fishing Solo

I've just started here and am trying to get templates together. I want to make a solo Fisherman. What would be a safe template for Fishing and doing MIB's. Do I need lockpicking or carto on her to bring up chests? Was going back and forth between Taming and Archery to help her. Any ideas and help with what you all use in appreciated. I don't know how the spawn is over here.

I've had people tell me this template sucks and I should have went archery, but it seems to work pretty good. I haven't had many issues soloing MIB's. There was the one that popped a ton of crap and one of the strongest Deep Water Eles I've ever had to try and take out, but it gave me a white MIB on top of about 25K in loot, so it was well worth it (Carto & LP not required):

Right now I'm:

112 Fishing
100 Magery
100 Provocation
100 Hiding
100 Mediation
100 Music
100 Resist

How I do the MIB is:

TURN OFF AUTO-OPEN NEW CONTAINER IN RAZOR -- they will pop, and deal you a decent amount of damage, and reveal you so best to keep it off.

After that's done, I find the spot, cast an EV on my deck and hide. Then start fishing away. Be mindful of the time your EV remains active and cast a new one if you still haven't pulled up the chest. If everything is done right, when you pull the chest the Elemental and Deep Water Elemental should agro onto your EV. At this point run to the back of the ship by your tillerman and pull the bars for the eles. Provo the elementals to fight and cast another EV and hide. Rinse and repeat until you're done.

You can also use nets to bring up other mobs like Serpents and Crackens, but be careful it takes a while and they can get raged pretty quickly by the Deep Water Elemental.

Another trick is being aware of where you are in relationship to land. You can pull the chest and sail towards land. Once you hit, disembark and go off screen. The elementals remain locked to your ship and don't follow, so you can safely run off screen and charge up your mana before going back and casting EV's to take them out.

Both of these are a bit 'gamey' I suppose, but you can safely do most MIBs like this. I also don't do too bad in champs with this setup.
